Our Wedding

Like so many couples these days, we met online, which is funny considering we lived down the road from each other and went to many of the same places. We immediately hit it off on our first date, where we met at Great Notion brewing, a popular brewery in the Seattle area and a favorite of ours. We bonded over our love for the outdoors (hiking, backpacking, skiing), travel, and similar backgrounds, sharing stories back and forth. As closing time came around at the brewery, a shock to both of us, the waitress approached us with a couple extra glasses of beer. She smiled at us, and told us that they had “accidentally” poured too much beer and wanted us to have it. I mean, who are we to say no to free beer! In the months afterwards, we continued to go on dates, getting to know each other and closing down every place we went to because we always seemed to lose track of time. I’m sure the restaurants loved us for that. As our relationship grew, so did the quiet understanding that this was something worth holding on to. When it came time to propose to Katie, Canada seemed like the perfect place. It’s where we’d gone on our first ski trip together, where Katie took Jeremy on his first backpack adventure, and where she told him she loved him for the first time. So when Katie’s parents visited from Texas in May, it felt like the perfect moment to ask.The plan was to drive up to Squamish, BC where we would take the Sea to Sky Gondola up, find a scenic lookout over the fjord and ask her there. The plan sounded easy enough but it didn’t take into account how long the drive would be, roughly 4.5 hours, and it also didn't take into account Jeremy needing to stop every hour to go to the bathroom! He blames the nerves. As soon as we arrived, we were all famished, so instead of going for our romantic walk to find a lookout we searched for food. Lunch was great but Jeremy had one thing in mind, asking Katie to marry him. Katie had some suspicions that something was up because of how quiet he had been on the drive. As you can guess, Katie said YES! And now here we are, getting married and beyond excited to celebrate with all of you. Can’t wait to see you there! Sláinte!

Dublin is the best airport to Templemore/Cloughjordan. Flying into Dublin will be your easiest option and then driving to Cloughjordan for the wedding which will be about 1.5 hours from Dublin. We recommend flying in a few days early, staying a couple days in Dublin or exploring the sites and then staying in Cloughjordan the night of the wedding. Cloughjordan House has rooms available for the night of the wedding only. We highly recommend this option, as there are not many hotels in the area. Stay safe on the night of our wedding, knowing you don't need to drive and can dance the night away with us!! Sláinte! **Please note, rooms are only available the night of the wedding. If you would like to stay in County Tipperary before and after the wedding, you will need to find other accommodations.
