What time should we arrive to the church?
Please arrive at St. John's no later than 2:45 pm. Anyone who arrives later than 2:45 will be asked to wait outside the church until the wedding procession is complete.
Can I bring a date or my children?
Though we love our large, fun family and friends, we can only accommodate the number of guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. Additional guests and children not included. Thank you for your understanding!
What is the dress code?
Recommended attire is black-tie optional. Men are encouraged to wear tuxedos or suits with ties. Women are encouraged to wear mid-to-full length dresses or gowns. Please no jeans, denim, or sneakers.
What should we do during the "Catholic Gap"?
Due to the nature of the Catholic ceremony (lovingly referred to as the "Catholic Gap"), we anticipate ~1.5 hour gap of time between the ceremony ending and the reception starting. Fortunately, the hotel, church, and reception venue are within one city block of each other. Guests can return to the hotel to check in or freshen up, or stop at a nearby watering hole to get the party started early. See our "Things to do" page for some bar recommendations!
Where is the Crystal Tea Room?
Our venue space is on the 9th floor of the historic Wanamaker Building. Enter at the intersection of 100 E Penn Square and Juniper St. Once inside of the building, enter up the escalator or elevator to the next floor, where you will be welcomed and directed into elevators.
