I lost a $20 bet

The first time I wrote this I went into detail. I decided I need to keep it short and sweet:

My sister, Anna started dating Nick, Tom's best friend when I was 14. The fist time I saw Tom and every time after that my heart would skip a beat. I had a crush on this hottie. It took him 20 years before he would come looking for me and another 9 months before he would ask me on our first date. 10 years later he would ask me to marry him.

We are meant to be together, and I can't wait to marry the man of my dreams.
