Our Wedding

Steven & I officially met in 2015, 8 years ago, even though our paths had crossed many times before as he went to Nitro, and I went to neighboring Poca. We had lots of mutual friends over the years, but for some reason we didn’t meet till the time was right! He introduced me to his daughter Ava the end of summer 2016 after we had been dating a few months. She can remember the exact day we met, what was said, probably even what I was wearing when she ran back into their apartment from playing and I was sitting on the couch. She looked shocked lol. Soon after, Steven & I took our first trip together to Colorado for his birthday weekend which more than likely was where our son Sebastian was conceived! We quickly found a more accommodating living arrangement and moved to Russet Drive. In May of 2016, we welcomed a healthy and handsome baby boy, Sebastian Edward Russell! As we were adjusting to life as a family of four, Steven had gotten a new job working for Stowers Body Shop. Ava kept us busy trying out new activities and life was on cruise control for the next three years. In early 2020 we found out I was expecting again, but also quickly learned of Covid 19. I was pregnant all throughout lockdown. We decided again to upgrade our living situation, and we bought our first home during the pandemic! Perkins Way here we come! We moved in just in time to celebrate Sebastian’s 3rd birthday & 5 months later we welcomed our precious beautiful baby girl, Bella Monroe Russell! We got engaged a month after Bella was born, on November 13th, 2020! Everything seemed to be going better after Covid let up and life went back to normal, but things can and did change quickly. Steven was diagnosed with cancer and had a tumor removed in May of 2022 and luckily the doctor was able to get it all and his scans have been clear since! Life has been moving in warp speed since becoming a family of five, but the Lord has blessed us and we are so thankful for the life we have together. We look forward to gathering with all of you to witness our marriage, and ring in the new year by celebrating The Russells!

Tom is the Bishop at New York Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church. He’s been a close family friend to the Flanagan family for over 40 years and as promised, would officiate my wedding so that Dr. Rev. Randall Flanagan could be father of the bride!
