"OK coach" (Katy said mockingly) these were the first words exchanged by these two on a drunken volleyball evening. With Ashton's smooth moves he got Katy's number, the classic way of course, asking her to play in a volleyball tournament the next day. Let's just say Ashton did not focus on the games too much. Fast forward one week, Katy returns home flower in hand from her date with Ashton but announcing, "He's just a friend." Katy gifted the flower to her roommate at the time, needless to say nothing developed the next couple months.

As time passed they eventually developed a meaningful friendship through volleyball, day drinking, and eventually hanging out by the pool (which Ashton played pool boy from time to time). The bond between these two grew stronger and by Katy's 25th Birthday they had begun dating. By Christmas time these two had a strong foundation built on top of their friendship and there was no denying their love for each other.

Let's move this story along (Katy said in a grumpy but loving tone), Thanksgiving day came and went with Katy accusing Ashton "I thought I'd be engaged today" little did Katy know in two days time Ashton would be down on one knee asking her to marry him. The scene, Pinecrest, where Katy's family had cut Christmas trees for 35 years. People in attendance, basically Katy's entire family (No pressure). With the cue of finding the perfect Christmas tree Ashton began his speech and eventually got down on one knee. Tears in her eyes Katy nodded her head yes with family in arms celebrating and wishing them nothing but happiness in the years to come.

Today, Ashton and Katy own a home together and have a gorgeous puppy named Ahri. Now lets get this party started!
