David and I met 4th of July weekend while we were both camping in the middle of the woods with our separate groups of friends. This was free camping, so it was on a first come first serve basis and our friend had gotten there days before the weekend to hold our spot, which David and his friends had actually wanted. Him and his friends had eventually found a spot, not as good as ours, a little distance away from our site. They heard us having a great time one night and decided to catch up with our group the next day after hiking to a water fall. When the day had turned to night time we played beer pong and had a fire, with some liquid courage I had approached David and swiftly kicked my feet up onto his lap while sitting next to him. We were together throughout the night and made sure to exchange numbers. I was so excited to hear from him the next day, and we texted and got to know one another. A few days later he invited me swimming with his cousin Kristina and his mom Kimberly who I immediately liked. We spent the rest of the summer camping together and it was easily the best summer I’ve had thus far. Our first official date he took me out kayaking, kayak plugs were forgotten and then oars were forgotten as well, I could tell David was a little frustrated by the third trip back to get our supplies. I remember saying if we could just make it through that first date we could make it through anything and that’s something we’ve carried with us throughout our relationship. Almost five years later we still enjoy adventuring together and cannot wait for the adventure of marriage.
