I am beyond honored to present my incredibly gorgeous, smart, creative, and hilarious bridal party.
Fun fact about me:
I can shake my eyeballs at ultra-speed.
Favorite thing about the couple:
The way they complement each other. Dylan makes Katie’s light shine even brighter and they both have deep love and respect for each other as people and partners.
How I Met the Bride:
Our brothers became friends in elementary school and then I met Katie. I wasn’t sure if we’d become besties since every time she, myself, and Brenna would have a playdate, the two of them would always do arts and crafts together. But since I wasn’t good at crafts, I would get jealous. In 6th grade, we found out we had pretty much everything in common and we’ve been besties for the resties ever since.
Favorite memory with the Bride:
Literally so many. I can’t think of one single moment but what stands out the most are all the sleepovers we had together. I would stay over enough nights per week that the McGowans just permanently left an extra bed out for me in Katie’s bedroom.
We would always mess around on the piano, make up dances, blast Taylor Swift, and wake up the next morning to Bagel Shack (a Local San Clemente bagel shop. Courtesy of Bill). Winning Triton Idol in highschool (lol) is a wholesome memory as well. Or the Paint and Sip class in San Deigo lol.
Who is passing out first?
Def Dylan. Katie is immortal.
Where will Dylan and Kat be in 10 years:
Lying out by their pool with some kids and designer brand-named dogs. They will be making cute cocktails and blasting Fleetwood Mac. Katie will probably adopt some more qualities to assimilate herself even further into Jennifer Coolidge. Hopefully, they will have homes in both CA and VA (pls).
Fun fact about me:
I had salmonella poisoning when I was 5 years old from a Pizza Hut Express.
How I Met the Bride:
Through the Virginia Tech Facebook page when Autumn and I were looking for a roommate! My first memory of Kat is her hitting her head on a road sign while coming over to meet me. Loved her ever since.
Favorite thing about the couple:
The way they laugh! They are so in tune with each other’s sense of humor and can make each other laugh with just a side-eye glance.
Favorite memory with the Bride:
TANACON!!! When we were 19, I flew out to visit Kat in California to go to Tana Mongeau’s YouTube festival with her other bestie, Danielle. We stood in line for hours, got sunburnt, and left to go to a rave with random people instead. Later we found out Tana was under investigation for fraud because she oversold the festival… LMFAO.
Who is passing out first:
Me. Oh my God, me. Wait, am I supposed to choose between Kat or Dylan? Lol. Neither. Me.
Where will Dylan and Kat be in 10 years:
On a 10-Year-Anniversary trip to the Amalfi Coast drunk on the beach. A pool boy is bringing their second round of guac and chips.
Fun fact about me:
I’ve never had a cavity despite the amount of candy I eat.
How I met the Bride:
I first met Kat when Dylan brought her home over a long weekend in the fall of 2019. I was SOOO excited to meet the famous girl we knew Dylan was seeing. Kat lived up to all of our expectations (obviously) and I love having another girl in the family!
Favorite thing about the couple:
They complement each other so well. I can tell my brother is so comfortable and relaxed when he’s with Kat. It’s been beautiful to watch their relationship unfold from college to adulthood. They fit perfectly in each other's lives :)
Favorite memory with the Bride:
Literally any family gathering, especially those involving some Coast Cocktails <3.
Who is passing out first?:
100% Dylan
Where will Dylan and Kat be in 10 years:
Lounging by their estate with a drink in hand. Hopefully, cool Aunt Lolo is babysitting their kids while they relax and celebrate their 10-year anniversary :)
Fun fact about me:
I have never eaten a hamburger in my life.
How I met the Bride:
At birth haha ( Fav cousin 4L)
Favorite thing about the couple:
How sweet they are to each other. Also, how well they complement one another. You can tell how much they love each other just by the way they talk and interact, it’s adorable.
Favorite memory with the Bride:
Last summer when Katie would come to the Virginia house. We would just hang out by the pool, sing songs, and play games. We would just float in the heated pool for hours lol.
Who is passing out first?:
Katie for sure
Where will Dylan and Kat be in 10 years:
They will be living happily together with a few kids and a few other dogs. Y'all will definitely be laying by the pool drinking, just living life, and hopefully in Suffolk lol.
Fun fact about me:
I have OCD, I don’t know why people call it a disorder when I just want things in order…
How I met the Bride: on the day I was born :)
Favorite thing about the couple: I love how they compliment each other and how sweet they are to each other
Favorite memory with the Bride: When I went to visit CA when I was little and you took me to a pier and chased me around with some of your highschool friends. Then we went back to your house and talked about your One Direction obsession… (and all stories you tell me and Maya)
Who is passing out first?: Katie
Where will Dylan and Kat be in 10 years: Living in Suffolk VA (next door to me 🥰) with a ton of kids and drinking by the pool
Fun fact about me:
I always hated children and now I’m a teacher. Welp.
How I Met the Bride:
I believe we met in 8th grade and Alyssa introduced us. I became good friends with Alyssa in middle school, and Alyssa was already BFFs with Katie. Not sure where we met exactly- I have faint memories of us meeting at the beach or perhaps at a SCHS football game. Either way, we bonded over being weird and having an unhealthy obsession with One Direction.
Favorite thing about the couple:
My favorite thing about Katie and Dylan is that they met so early in college and they are still together! I remember in high school when all our friends would discuss who would get married first. I don’t really remember it being Katie, but look at her now! She definitely showed us all up.
Favorite memory with the Bride:
It’s hard to choose just one, but my favorites are our trips to LA. We went once for her soft-grunge-themed 16th birthday party with some other friends, where we arrived at the pearly gates of Hollywood in a stretch limo, popping Martinelli’s like it was champagne and snorting In-n-out salt packets like it was….well….. (you can cut this part out lmao).
But, my favorite was probably our solo trips to LA. It was just us two together, walking around like we were on a cool-kid reality show, on our way to Melrose Ave after getting a reality check whilst walking down Sunset Blvd (it was not like what you see in the old Hollywood glamour movies). We went again to see Sky Ferreira (a literal Tumblr goddess), where we were front row in our best 90s/00s grunge attire, and asking people for a cigarette so we would seem older and cooler, of course. It’s OK Rhonda and Bill, it was all about the aesthetic.
Any funny stories to tell about the bride and groom?:
Meeting Dylan at the McGowan house in San Clemente, where we had a great time soaking in the infamous jacuzzi. I think I scared him a little with all the crazy things I would say and do. Not to mention warning him about all the little Gucci poops in the grass.
For Katie, more fondly known as Caggie Anus, there are countless funny stories that we share. I honestly can’t name one. I think about our high school years in drama class literally being the worst students but always making everyone laugh, even if “everyone” was just us.
Who is passing out first?:
Rhonda. Lol jk probably Katie because she can go hard. Remember the jungle juice days? Here I will link Thunderstruck by ACDC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2AC41dglnM
Where will Dylan and Kat be in 10 years:
At their exclusive lake house somewhere on the New England coast drinking margaritas and listening to DJ Earworm. Their kids will be on a banana boat with Grandpa Bill in the distance, causing a ruckus. Katie and Dylan will laugh and hold hands until the sun sets (or until one of them gets too sweaty).
Fun fact about me:
I can put my right leg over my head.
How I Met the Bride:
So me and Chera initially met in second grade and have been close friends since 6th grade when we were put in the same class! Kat and Chera moved in together during college and I immediately was like this chick is the coolest, most stylish person I’ve ever met. (I was intimidated cause this was during her slightly goth era).
Favorite thing about the couple:
They balance each other out so well!!!! They are the quintessential “opposites attract couple” and yet they’re so similar all at once.
Who is passing out first?:
Dylan. Last year at Kat and I's joint birthday party, he passed out in the backyard. Chera’s boyfriend, Reese, saying a line from Family Guy finally awoke him. Maybe it was so comforting that it brought him back to????
Where will Dylan and Kat be in 10 years:
With baby Siobhan Guadelupe Michaels at their summer home in a Tuscan village.
Fun fact about me:
I shaved my head bald; like freshly polished and waxed bald. It was freeing and fun and I totally recommend it.
How I Met the Bride:
I met sweet Katie Bird off of Virginia Tech class of 2020 Facebook LOL. Chera and I were in need of a roommate for the next year, and we signed the lease the same day we met Katie and Celina!! It was love at first sight, especially because Kat bonked her head on a tree and after that, it felt just right. Very quickly, the four of us were inseparable.
Favorite thing about the couple:
I just love these two so much!! There are so many great things about both of them. Each of them has 0 flaws and they complement each other perfectly. Dylan treats Kat like the queen she is. Dylan was our 5th roommate during college and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way! If I had to choose, I loved how they would chef it up in our kitchen. Obviously, they would always share with everyone in the room because of how sweet and pure they are.
Favorite memory with the Bride:
Oh gosh, there are SO many. We spent so much time together in college. Whether we were binging movies, having wine and Club Penguin nights, going on trips, or even just doing our grocery shopping; Katie made everything fun. My favorite memories with Kat are the days I’d scoop her up from her class and we would drive down our favorite old country road and blare old country tunes. I almost feel in the moment as I am writing it down. I just loved every second I got to spend with Kat, and still do.
Who is passing out first?:
Oh, definitely Dylan. Kat is untouched when it comes to partying and rallying. Dylan’s out for the count when he’s ready, but me too so I relate HAHA.
Where will Dylan and Kat be in 10 years:
The two love birds will have be laid up on their big ol boat in the middle of the lake or ocean, with their little minions running around and just soaking up the sun with their little family.
Fun fact about me:
I lived in Alaska for 3 years and have felt -35°F… you don’t wanna experience it... trust me.
How I Met the Bride:
There was a Virginia Tech follow train on Twitter for the freshman class of 2020. Kat and I thought each other looked cool and were the only people who weren’t cringe (well… cringe to our standards). Then we actually met up at admitted Freshman orientation where we both were staying in West AJ! We caused a ruckus and then were forced to play dodgeball in the gym with everyone. We hid in the back and did not participate the entire time, somehow we were the last ones standing on our team. Very anxiety-inducing. Kat was the actual last person and lost the game so fast. HAHA
Favorite thing about the couple:
They both know how to have a good time. When the party gets too good, Dylan is always watching vigilantly over Kat until she makes her grand reappearance.
Have yall figured out that I am the QUEEN OF RALLYING yet?!
Favorite memory with the Bride:
There are literally so many. When we lived with Chera and Autumn for 3 years in college, it felt like an endless slumber party. We always had so much fun just being goofballs.
WAIT!!! I remembered a good one. During Freshman year, we would hang out in Kat's dorm every day and get lunch or dinner together. One time we were dressed especially stylish and were walking around campus after dinner and this random dude stopped us and said “Het! There’s the vibe police!!” when he passed us. He said it very positively and was very complimentary. We both hope he's thriving today!
Any funny stories to tell about the bride and groom?:
I remember when Kat FIRST told me she had a crush on Dylan. She was cute and nervous when we all went to a haunted maze together on Halloween! When they first started seeing each other they were both nervous and adorable, Dylan may have been a little more nervous LOL. I can’t blame him, Kat is beautiful
Who is passing out first?:
They’re both passing out, possibly on the floor, or in another unconventional location.
Where will Dylan and Kat be in 10 years:
In a very well-decorated cute house, thanks to their style.
Fun fact about me:
I was born a ginger
Favorite thing about the couple:
They are always able to have the best time and they complement each other so well.
How I Met the Bride:
I met Katie for the first time at the 2019 Virginia Tech spring game with Austin!
Favorite memory with the Bride:
Spending the day in NYC with Katie and Bill where we went around the city drinking and spending Bill’s money.
Any funny stories to tell about the bride and groom?: When we were all together hanging out in the water at the Suffolk house, funneling Costco margaritas out of the fish gluggle jug from the dock. Dylan got a little wastey to the point where he started pouring White Claws all over Bill’s head LOL.
Who is passing out first?:
Dylan, Kat has 9 lives ;)
Where will Dylan and Kat be in 10 years:
At the lake house with a dog named Balenciaga.
Fun fact about me:
I have pretty bad acid reflux but I’m a really good listener.
How I met the bride:
She just popped up into my life at the raw age of 4 or 5! Our parents were friends and before we knew it, Katie, myself, and my sister, Alyssa, latched onto each other. The rest is history!
Favorite thing about the couple:
They have the perfect ratio of love and roast. From my time getting to know them as a couple, it’s very obvious how well their different personalities complement one another. Because of their differences, they are able to stand on their own and thrive solo when apart and highlight each other when they are together. It really warms my heart to see them just exist together because you can see the care they have for one another.
Favorite memory with the Bride:
Only one memory??? Okay, give me a minute.
Any funny stories to tell about the bride and groom?:
I have witnessed a couple of dart competitions between Katie and Dylan. Let's just say, I wouldn’t want to be placing any bets on the two of them.
Who is passing out first?:
I mean... I have to go based on my own experiences here... Katie (sorry), but then, close to follow, Dylan will go lay down next to her and also pass out.
Fun fact about me:
I can make it sound like I’m speaking French. I don’t know French.
How I Met the Bride:
Autumn Kleinman's birthday party at Ferrells(rip). The start of an Era. There was no turning back from friendship after that night.
Favorite thing about the couple:
How well they complement each other. They are literally made to be together. Couldn’t have picked a more perfect partner for our Katie💕
Favorite memory with the Bride:
Katie holding onto the back of her Jag while we drove it around the Walmart parking lot. We were very stupid.
Any funny stories to tell about the bride and groom?:
I still remember when Katie told us about this guy she liked in college (Dylan) and the only photo she showed us was of them passed out together in a bathroom.
Who is passing out first?:
Can I say, Rhonda? Me and Rhonda will be down for the count.
Where will Dylan and Kat be in 10 years:
In their gothic mansion on a hill with 2 kids and a tiny guard dog. Having picnics on the lawn under an old tree enjoying their life.
How I Met the Bride:
The first memory I have of Katie is that she asked me if I wanted to accompany her and B Dilly for a talent show even though we both knew I didn’t know how to play piano and for some reason I said yes.
Favorite thing about the couple:
Katie and Dylan have a great balance between them in character and it's obvious how effortless and calm their soul connection is, and they always be stylin together :-)
Who is passing out first?:
kO Katie
