Our love story began with a swipe right on Bumble in August of 2022. Having just moved to Richmond from Martinsville, VA, Paul was new to the city, and we were both eager to meet someone special. Our initial conversations flowed effortlessly, leaving us both feeling hopeful and excited about the possibility of meeting in person.

It wasn't long before Kathryn playfully nudged Paul to ask her out on a date. He took the hint, and we arranged to meet at The Continental in Manchester for a casual evening of drinks. That first date was nothing short of magical. We clicked instantly, losing track of time as we chatted for hours on end – even staying an hour past closing!

From that moment on, we were inseparable. Our dates turned into cozy nights in, cooking for each other, watching movies, and taking leisurely strolls along Richmond's scenic flood wall. As the fall season arrived, we embarked on our first trip together, visiting Paul's brother in Washington, D.C.

It was during this trip, outside the stunning Smithsonian Museums, that Paul asked Kathryn to officially be his girlfriend. Kathryn said yes, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Over the past few years, we've created a treasure trove of memories together. Our adventures have taken us to new and familiar places. We've visited Washington DC a few times, but our favorite trips were during the Christmas season. The city's festive atmosphere, Christmas markets, and delicious cuisines made for unforgettable experiences. We also traveled a few times to Charleston, South Carolina. We've explored the charming city of Charleston, where Paul's dad's side of the family is from. The historic architecture, southern hospitality, and delicious Low-country cuisine have made it a favorite destination (These were the trips that solidified Kathryn's love for crab legs!). Our biggest trip to date was to California! One of our most epic adventures took us to Napa Valley and Lake Tahoe for a cousin trip. We had an absolute blast exploring the vineyards, enjoying the scenic views, and spending quality time with family.

When we're not traveling, you can find us cooking up a storm! We love experimenting with new recipes and flavors in the kitchen. After meals, we are typically binge-watching our favorite shows. Currently, we're obsessed with Gossip Girl (XOXO!) But mostly we love spoiling our fur babies: Mia, our lovable dog, and Oliver, our playful cat, bring us endless joy and companionship.

As our love continued to grow, Paul prepared to pop the question! On November 10, 2024, after a beautiful morning of church and brunch, Paul took Kathryn to the picturesque James River. After chatting for an hour, Paul asked Kathryn to be his wife!

The rest of the day was a whirlwind of joy and celebration. We spent hours Face-timing our closest family and friends, sharing the exciting news. We also raised a glass with Kathryn's parents to toast our engagement!

That evening, Paul treated Kathryn with a romantic steak and crab dinner, cooked to perfection by the soon- to-be husband himself! But the most special touch was opening a bottle of champagne we purchased during our trip to Napa Valley, specifically for our engagement!

As we've navigated life's journey together, we've both grown and flourished in incredible ways. Kathryn pursued her passion for nursing, returning to school to earn her Master's degree and become a Family Nurse Practitioner. Paul has been her rock, supporting her every step of the way – from late-night study sessions to celebratory moments after passing exams! Meanwhile, Paul's career has soared at Clinical Ink, where he's been promoted to Technical Project Manager. His hard work and dedication have paid off, and Kathryn couldn't be prouder!

As we begin this new chapter together, we're thrilled to continue building our life in Richmond, VA. We're excited to see where life takes us, exploring new adventures, and creating memories in the city we love.
