Kate and Aidan met through mutual friends in Orange County during the summer of 2021. They quickly became close and spent that summer lifting weights at a local gym, going on instacart runs, and playing pranks on other members of their friend group. It was clear to their friends that they were starting to like each other but it took them a little while to figure that out and admit it!

Toward the end of the summer, they started spending more time at Aidan's family's house and Kate grew close to his sisters and parents. They had briefly discussed their relationship status but decided not to date at that time since Aidan knew he would be heading to Ohio at the end of the summer where he would be wrestling at Case Western University. This did not last long, however, and about two weeks after Aidan headed to the Midwest, they talked over the phone and decided to give long distance dating a shot.

Over the next year, Kate took many Spirit Airline flights out to Ohio to visit Aidan and enjoyed spending time with him and his new college friends. They cherished the time they got to spend together in Mammoth over winter break and Maui during summer break and after that year Aidan decided to try going to school closer to home.

He attended Vanguard University for the first semester of his Sophomore year of college and while being with Kate and near his family was nice, it was not the right academic or wrestling environment for him and led to a challenging time in Kate and Aidan's relationship. They found out they were pregnant with their son in October of 2022 but decided it would be best for Aidan to return to Case Western to finish his schooling.

At the end of this semester, Kate graduated from Vanguard University with a degree in Mathematics and a teaching credential and they welcomed their son Bennett on June 5th of 2023. That summer was filled with sleepless nights, so many diaper changes, and more joy than they had ever experienced. Parenthood challenged and grew their relationship with each other and their families and made them increasingly grateful for the incredible support system they were surrounded by.

Aidan had to return to college in the fall, which has been extremely difficult but he is encouraged knowing that he is working to provide for his family. He cherishes the time he gets to spend at home over breaks and talks to Kate and Bennett over FaceTime when he has time between classes and wrestling. Long distance has been a challenge of course but has also strengthened their relationships with each other and with the Lord. Aidan accepted Christ this summer and Kate and Aidan have been so blessed getting to add a new dimension to their relationship.

Aidan proposed to Kate in front of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco on October 19th, which was met with an exuberant YES! They enjoyed a day in the city with their families then got to dedicate Bennett at church the following day with both sides of the family present. It was a weekend full of joy and excitement as they began looking at what God has for their future and they cannot wait to celebrate with the people they love as they head into their next chapter as husband and wife!
