What is there to do in Fort Smith?

The third largest city in Arkansas, Fort Smith combines the vibrancy of a large metro with the convenience of a small town. Our Trailblazing City offers a variety of culinary delights including hand-cut, aged steaks from Does Eat Place (https://doesfortsmith.com), New York Style pizza & on-tap brews from Bike Rack Brewery at Vinnie's Pie's, mouth-watering barbeque from Neumeier's Rib Room & the Blue Ember and much more. Looking for a bit of history? You've come to the right city. No trip to Fort Smith is complete without stops at the United State's Marshals Museum, the Fort Smith National Historic Site, and Fort Smith National Cemetery. Does Fort Smith have an airport?

Yes. The Fort Smith Regional Airport is conveniently located near the hotel. American Airlines has daily flights between Dallas Fort Worth and Fort Smith. A full schedule is available at: https://flyfsm.com/flight-status

Are you registered anywhere?

Because we're combining households, we don't need a traditional registry. (You only need so many plates and blenders!) Instead, we're asking folks to consider making a gift to our honeymoon fund. (You'll find the link under the Honeymoon fund tab.) We love exploring and those on Facebook may know how much we enjoy getting out of the house to experience the midwest. Your generosity can help make our dream "Exploration Saturday" in Ireland possible. Thank you for considering a gift and for taking the time to share in our special day. We're grateful to have you in our lives.

Are there hotels near the wedding venue?

Yes. Fort Smith has many quality hotel choices. The event facility is on the east side of town just off of Phoenix Avenue. If you'd like to stay near the facility please consider Homewood Suites by Hilton, Home2 Suites by Hilton, Fairfield Inn & Suites or the Holiday Inn Express & Suites. If you'd like to stay in downtown Fort Smith (about a 15 minute drive from the venue - and within walking distance of the historic fort, beautiful Arkansas River, and several local coffee shops and boutique stores) please consider the Wyndham Fort Smith or Courtyard Fort Smith Downtown.

What is the dress code?

We don't have a formal dress code though, if you forced our hand, we'd say business casual.

Is there a set program for the evening?

The ceremony will take place at 4:30 followed by a social hour, a meal, and live music from some pretty talented Fort Smith performers. It should be a fun, relaxing evening with family and friends.

What are your wedding colors

We're happy you asked. We have them listed below.

Will the wedding be outdoors?

Yes, if Mother Nature permits, we'll be outside. It is April in Arkansas so it'll either be sunny and 80 or cloudy and 43. (Much like Kansas.) Please check the weather and dress accordingly.)

What Time Does the Wedding Start

Excellent Question! Here is the timeline: 4:30 p.m. -- Ceremony (Outside - Fingers Crossed!) 5 p.m. - Social Hour Begins (inside of Barn w/cash bar) 6 p.m. - Dinner is served (Vinnie's Pies & salad) 7 p.m. - Live Music & Dance (Keep those Fingers crossed for great weather!) Please keep in mind all times (with the exception of the ceremony) are approximate.

Will there be a bar?

Yes. A cash bar serving seltzers, wine, and beer will be available. Lemonade, diet and regular soda, and water will also be available.

Are you having a live band or a DJ?

You are in for a treat. Don and Terri Bailey and a five piece band will be performing. Don is an Associate Professor of Music and Director of Jazz Studies at UAFS. He has played with The Temptations, The Four Tops, the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, the New York Voices, Tommy Newsom, Marvin Hamlisch, Phil Driscoll and has opened for Randy Travis and Christian music artist Clay Cross. His wife, Terri, is the staff accompanist for UAFS and an accomplished musician and composer. They'll be joined be fellow UAFS faculty and, if we're lucky, UAFS students. It should be a wonderful evening of music.

Is there an elevator in the barn?

No. The Barn by Two Brothers is a historical hay barn constructed in 1910. It does not have an elevator but the sidewalk from the lawn to the front entrance is ADA compliant.

Where do we park?

Parking is limited immediately in front of the barn but additional parking is available nearby and to the east of the facility.
