Since both of us are performers, it's only fitting that we met during rehearsals for Caryl Churchill's play Cloud Nine, produced by Falcon's Eye Theatre at Folsom Lake College and directed by Christine Nicholson. Katie, a student at FLC at the time, auditioned... and after a few rehearsals without the role being cast, Steve was recommended to take on the part of Harry Bagley/Martin. The rest, as they say, is history...

Our first date started as a group outing after a rehearsal! We went from lunch at a kitschy chain restaurant to watching movies and episodes of Parks and Recreation, all the way until Katie's dad suggested that midnight was too late to be hanging out on the couch!

After discussing marriage for some time, Steve asked the fateful question one Saturday morning in our apartment living room. Katie had her hair mask in, a charcoal mask on her face, and a nightgown on...it was a total surprise! Hopefully our life together will be as peaceful as that morning was.
