Our Wedding

We met in June 2012 when&nbsp;Kate joined the Whiskey Blue bartending&nbsp;team at the W hotel in Buckhead. After months of hanging out after work with other staff at Whiskey Blue, Garrett texted Kate to hang out solo, and the rest is history. They decided to make it official and only date each other in January 2013, moved in together that summer after 6 months of dating and have lived in four places together over the span of six years.&nbsp;

How We Met

After FIVE and a half wonderful years together, Garrett popped the question when they were at his parent’s house in Michigan.&nbsp;Kate was in complete shock and always thought she would know when it was coming, but he surprised her! July 14, 2018 // the day he proposed (Kate's view) : We just woke up, grabbed a cup of coffee and went outside to sit on a swing on his parent’s porch to enjoy the beautiful scenery. He was being extra sweet which I thought was weird, but just enjoyed him talking mushy about us. I can’t tell you the sweet things he was saying, all I remember is him saying something like “I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you”. That grabbed my attention and when I turned to look at him, he was on one knee. I was SHOCKED. I said “are you serious???” and he pulled out the ring only for me to follow up with “Is that real??!!!”. A million thoughts crossed my mind in a matter of seconds like: how did he afford this ring, &nbsp;who knows about this, how did he plan this without me knowing and am I dreaming? Then he said "are you going to answer me?" To which I replied "YES!!!!"

Our Proposal

We've never followed traditions, so it shouldn't come as a huge surprise that we found out we are expecting our first child before we officially tie the knot! We are so exited to become parents and&nbsp;start this new chapter in our lives. Thanks for being a part of our special day and accommodating our new wedding date on such short notice.

We reserved a block of rooms at the Canopy by Hilton Atlanta Midtown hotel. They are offering a reduced rate for our special day of $200 per night (excluding taxes and fees). This is where Garrett's store is located. Live, work, retail space in the heart of Atlanta. It is also open container on the property, so grab a beer and walk around.

The Beltline is located behind Ponce City Market. There are a couple bars along the way and a brewery. You can also rent bikes at PCM if you want to ride the beltline.. there are also electric scooters for those who are lazy! :)
