On February 23, 2024, I was feeling ambitious and decided to join Hinge, the dating app. I quickly found out how overwhelming these apps can be and told myself that I was soon going to delete it. On February 24, right before I was planning on deleting this app, this cute boy from Hickory messaged me. Even though I definitely did not think it was going to lead to anything, something told me to message him back. While we messaged back and forth a little bit, I found out that Clark was a pretty decent guy. However, I was still very hesitant because I had just gotten out of a long term relationship less than a month prior to this. I was very upfront with him about taking things VERY slow, and he was also very hesitant about the whole long distance thing. Clark ended up asking me out on a date after we talked on the phone every night for the next week.
On March 3, 2024, my life changed forever. We met in Spartanburg for our first date at Monsoon Noodle House downtown. After we ate, we walked around downtown and talked for several hours. We shared our testimonies with each other and just talked about how the Lord had been working in our lives recently. After I got in my car to go home, all I kept thinking was I had just met my husband. He was exactly everything I had ever dreamed of (and my whole wanting to take things slow thing changed pretty quick lol!)
After going out for a while, Clark finally asked me to be his girlfriend sitting in his living room on April 13, 2024 right before going to a worship night with his friends. Within two weeks, we were already talking about marriage. The whole saying "when you know, you know" started to make a lot of sense to us.
God made it so abundantly clear to both of us that our lives were aligning. We shared our passions and visions for ministry with each other and soon realized we wanted to be partners in growing God's kingdom.
