Their story began at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles during the summer of 2018. They were both starting their occupational therapy program and met in the parking lot on our first day for orientation. Katie didn't think much of Evan or like him for that matter. On the hand, Evan immediately fell for Katie. He soon called his sister Hanna to tell her all about Katie and asked for her advice. This is where she told her younger brother to not become so focused on romantic aspirations but rather take the time to develop a meaningful friendship first. And this is exactly what Evan did. Throughout the rest of the summer they became best friends and bonded over their love for music, being outdoors and exploring their new home of LA together. One night, after completing a kinesiology exam they went out and celebrated with a group of friends. This is where they found themselves spending the rest of the night eating Big Macs, french fries, oreo mcflurries and talking for hours. This was the moment, Katie felt a spark and realized this is it. After many roadtrips, hiking adventures, kitchen dance parties and ice cream dates they fell in love with each other. Five years later, they continue to bring out the best in each other. Katie now enjoys drinking sours, camping, eating a perfectly medium rare cooked steak and have developed more patience (debatable). And Evan has become addicted to hot pot and Asian cuisine, a big fan for sweets, (maybe) more organized and obsessed with Law & Order SVU!
