Our Wedding

Our love story has been years in the making. While our lives circled each other since childhood, Katie being best friends with Chance's cousin Lacey. We didn’t have an official meeting until our late twenties/early thirties. During one of Chance’s cousin’s birthday party, Chance saw Katie smile for the first time and he knew he wanted to meet her. Little did Katie know that Chance would begin months worth of a quest to find out as much as he could about her talking to family and friends! We officially swapped details at his cousin’s wedding night. Katie gave Chance her number to keep an eye on someone we loved, and the spark ignited and as Chance puts it, "opened the door for me to finally text and talk to her!" That whole summer, we texted on and off, and then one day Chance finally worked up the nerve to ask Katie out.Our first date was one filled with laughs and smiles that neither of us will forget. We spent hours chatting and eating at a little pizza place, just enjoying each others company. At the end of the night, we went back to Katie’s place and played Zelda until the middle of the night. Chance went home that night, drunk of love, and declared that he would one day marry Katie.While we held affection for one another, love truly bloomed through adversity.During the holiday season, Katie’s work was hitting at every angle and causing such terrible anxiety. There were days where Katie felt like she just couldn’t manage it anymore, but Chance was there to help calm the storm. Whenever times got hard, Chance would always be a lighthouse in the storm to make her way home. During the harrowing times of Chance’s father’s death, Katie went out of her way to be there for him. She would come by everyday to see him, cook for him, and went with Chance to visit his father in the hospital until the very end.In the five years that we have been together, we have already had a lifetime of love and memories to look back on. From simple nights at home, cuddling under the blankets on our living room floor bed we made, to the more extravagant valentines days filled with Rose Petals and steaks, we will carry these moments close to our hearts.We have seen each other through the best and worst of each other. We inspire and encourage one another to be better versions of ourselves with each passing moment. There isn’t a day that goes by where we wish for different partners, or a different life. God has blessed us with someone who can meet us and challenge us in ways that neither of us knew we needed. We know when our life on earth has ended, we will walk hand in hand towards the pearly gates knowing that we will never regret who we are.

I knew from the moment I first spent time with Katie that she was the kind of friend I wanted to keep in my life. Her positive energy and loving support brighten the lives of everyone around her. Over the years, we’ve often joked about ‘going through withdrawals’ whenever too much time passes without seeing each other. I’m truly thankful that our friendship has continued to evolve—from meeting at the gym for KNJ time to Costco shopping adventures. I’m excited for this next chapter as Katie embarks on a new journey with Chance, and I look forward to seeing how our friendship grows alongside it. I cherish the little things that make our bond so special—reading and sharing ridiculous books, getting lost in nature or by the ocean, singing Spice Girls in the car, and finding joy in giving thoughtful gifts to those I love. Here’s to many more memories together!

I’m Sam, the big sister, and I have the honor of being Katie’s bridesmaid. Growing up with Katie has been an adventure filled with fun, laughter, love, some bickering, and more memories than I could ever count. Throughout all of our childhood antics, from supporting each other or almost killing each other, we’ve always had each other’s backs through the big moments in life. I’ve seen firsthand what an incredible woman she is. I couldn’t be more proud to watch her be a bride, and I’m so lucky to be able to stand by her side as she starts this next chapter.

Our parents are friends which is how we’ve known each other since we were babies. We grew up taking many quad-riding family vacations at Pismo Beach. With a few years of age difference, we didn’t get super close until 2016 when we bonded at Baskin Robbins where we sat on the curb out front eating ice cream and sharing life stories that we both didn’t know about each other. Ever since she has been my rodeo partner, country concert buddy, and my favorite person to go on adventures with! She is such an amazing cousin (what we call each other) with the biggest, sweetest heart. I can’t wait to be there with her to share in what’ll be the start of her biggest adventure yet!

I’m Lacey, and I suppose you can attribute this wedding to me, lol. Katie & I met while playing soccer in second grade, a remarkable twenty-four years ago. Over the years, Katie has become like a sister to me, and her parents have long been considered part of our family. Now, Katie will officially become a part of our family as my cousin-in-law. We wish the newlywed a lifetime of happiness. I love you, Sis.

This is Kelli. Katie and her have been friends since High School! They have gone on many fun adventures together from getting their American Farmer in Louisville, Kentucky to Graduating College together. Kelli’s favorite things are food flowers and wine! Cheers to an awesome wedding!

Chance has not only been a friend to me but more like a brother to me for over 20 years. Our friendship first started I believe in the early years of middle school. And just like any friendship we have had our ups and downs, but no matter what happens, I can say Chance has always had my back no matter the circumstances. I like to say we have now after all these years have aged like fine wine. We are in our mid thirties now and I can say I am more than honored and excited to see the rest of this exciting chapter of Chance and Katie's life play out as the beautiful story  I know it will become. P.S. Chances is the Godfather to my girls and with this marriage I will be looking forward to becoming a Godfather myself haha! Thank you and God bless my friend and the rest of his family.

I’m honored to stand by Chance’s side as his cousin. Growing up, we shared a passion for the outdoors, hunting, and shooting. Our competitiveness also led us to bond over sports. As kids, we both learned the value of hard work by helping my dad with various house projects. Those early lessons taught us how to fix just about anything. One memorable night stands out when Chance got kicked out of a bar, let’s just say it was something we both will never forget! I am excited to celebrate Chance’s new chapter with Katie. I know they’ll face every challenge with love, laughter, and plenty of adventure. Here’s to many more memories yet to be made!

I met Chance in the fall of 2013 in a small neighborhood across from the college we both attended my Sophomore year. I was across the street at a friends house when i started hearing music from next door.  Walking outside, I saw a crowd of several dozen people standing outside of a duplex having a party. Chance wasnt hard to spot. Standing half a foot taller than everyone else there talking to a few members of our universities new golf team.
After speaking to a couple people i had classes with I found myself in group of people along side him, the 2 people who lived in the apartment (Jess a soccer goalie and Gabe a Brazillian golfer) and Chance a freshman golfer of the exact same name. The inside joke from day one was always that he was Big Chance and that golf Chance was Little Chance. 
The way i remember it was that Chance spoke first. “What is your name”. I responded, “Webb” without hesitation he grinned and said “No it’s not. Thats a last name” grinning back I responded that it was my first name and that my last name was Busby. Chance (thinking this was hilarious) responded with “it’s probably better to have 2 last names than 2 first names” 😆 “HEY EVERYONE THIS IS WEBB.” Chance immediately made me feel at home. He introduced me to so many people that night and kicked off one of if not THE most party filled semester I had ever had before or since. Looking back my first impression was that he was very forward, passionate, and a real straight shooter. Over a decade later I still wouldnt have it any other way!

Hello, I am Francisco Martinez.  The first time I met Chance was at Hobbes Groves in Fresno, by Katie.  At first seeing how tall and big Chance was, my first thought was to make sure not to get on his bad side lol; but after a couple of minutes, we started talking about Video Games and Movies and realized we had lot of things in common.  I am always happy to come down to Fresno and hang out with Chance, any Chance I get. Congratulations to you man and I know you will have a great wedding.

I’ve seen firsthand what an incredible support and help he can give.
