Our Story

The Story of Us

Picture of The Story of Us

Our story starts back in college when Connor and I lived in the same dorm building at Elmira College in the fall of 2014. We had a few interactions throughout the first year but one of the most memorable was our meeting in the stairwell. I was walking back up to my room when Connor came bursting out the door. Knowing he lived on the 2nd floor I continued to walk up the stairs only for it to be getting eerily dark. I turn back and noticed I was already on the 3rd floor and was walking up to the roof access. I walked back down to the landing and looked back at the reflection in the stairwell window just to see Connor smiling back at me.

Jumping ahead to spring 2015, Elmira held a term 3 concert and this year it was the Chainsmokers. Both of us attended the concert on the lawn and I saw him standing off to the side of me. I took the chance and went up to him and we started to dance together and later that night we shared our first kiss.

We continued to talk and hang out until the end of freshman year. We texted throughout the summer until the fall when we both went back to Elmira. I remember being nervous to see him again but we picked back up right where we left off and finally made our relationship official in November 2015. We dated throughout the rest of college and went to each others sports events, and hung out in each others dorm rooms. Many of our guests attending our wedding we met at the purple bubble of Elmira College.

We graduated with our degrees in June of 2018 where we then had to endure a short period of long distance. I started my first job at Dartmouth in New Hampshire and Connor worked for Enterprise back in Maryland. We did about a year of long distance and visited each other from time to time. Finally the long distance got to me and I decided I needed to return to Maine or take the next step in Connor and I's relationship. I decided to move down to Maryland in the fall of 2019. I got a job as a labor and delivery nurse in Silver Spring, MD and Connor continued to work for Enterprise in Harford County. Due to the distance between the two we got our first apartment together in Howard County where we lived for about 3 years.

Unfortunately, timing is everything and I moved to Maryland right before the 2020 pandemic and we were on lockdown. On the bright side, we both were lucky enough to still be able to work during this time. We tried all the covid trends, went for many walks, played board games, and watched lots of Netflix. Towards the end of the pandemic Connor and I moved into our second apartment and he could tell that I was getting sad on my off days due to being stuck in our apartment alone and unable to visit my family back in Maine. This is when we decided to get our first dog.

We traveled down to Virginia early one morning to pick up little a blonde cocker spaniel we found of the internet. Luka has completely taken over our hearts and we both love spending everyday with our crazy little pup who brings so much joy into our lives.

In the new year of 2022, we decided that the apartment we had wasn't enough for us and our little puppy so we started to look for our first home together. We landed on a little rancher in Harford County that was perfect for us. Its close to Connor's family and has a big fenced in back yard for Luka. We closed in May of 2022 and still live here today.

Since living together we have experienced so much; new jobs, traveling, concerts, family time and many football games. In December 2024, right before Christmas, after a lot of questioning and nagging from friends, family and myself, Connor finally asked me to marry him in Baltimore with the most beautiful ring and family by our side. With almost a decade together we deiced to not wait any longer and get married in October 2025.

We are so excited to celebrate our special day with our closest friends and family who have been by our sides throughout our years together. We look forward to a day full of love and a night full of drinks and dancing.
