We imagine most people will either fly into SeaTac airport, or driving from Seattle. Those coming from the East Coast may also consider flying into Kelowna, Canada and driving 3.5hrs South (though Kelowna is a much smaller airport and rental car options will be limited).

Though the drive is long from Seattle, it’s incredibly scenic, especially the stretch along SR-20 through the North Cascades, so plan for occasional stops to take in the views!

Travel Options:

1. Driving from Seattle

Route Overview:

Mazama is approximately 3.5 to 4 hours (around 190 miles) from Seattle, depending on traffic and road conditions. The most straightforward route involves taking Interstate 5 (I-5) and U.S. Route 2 and then State Route 20.

Alternative Routes:

You could take I-90 East from Seattle and then head north through Lake Chelan or Winthrop, but the route through Stevens Pass and SR-20 is generally the most scenic and direct.

2. Flying from SeaTac Airport

If you insist on flying, the closest airport to Mazama is in Wenatchee or Pangborn Memorial Airport (EAT). You can fly from Seattle to Wenatchee and then drive the rest of the way (about a 2-hour drive), but this is typically more expensive and time-consuming compared to just driving from Seattle.
