Our sweet Murphy girl was the reason we met in the fall of 2018. Katie was coming home from a night out at JMU and saw Andrew walking Murphy and immediately ran up to him and asked to pet his puppy. That then turned into a 30 minute conversation where we realized that we were next door neighbors. Since Katie was in a relationship at the time, this began as an amazing friendship.

Our friendship continued all throughout junior and senior year and as Andrew likes to say, Katie "put him in the friendzone". Nonetheless, we continued to be great friends and even did our campus crawl post graduation together.

About a year after graduation, we reconnected and started spending more time together and soon realized we both saw more than a friendship in the future.

Finally on July 17th we made it official! In the words of Andrew he "finally escaped the friendzone after 2 years, 10 months, and 27 days." And thus began the adventure of our relationship!

At the end of August in 2021, over a year after we actually graduated, Andrew and Katie finally walked the stage and ~officially~ became JMU alumni together.

We couldn't tell you the exact day we each said "I love you" for the first time, but we can both agree when we say by Andrew's birthday, just 4 months of dating, we knew we were each others forever.

For Katie's birthday we took one of our first solo trips as a couple to New York City.

We've done all sorts of traveling throughout our relationship including Buffalo, NY a few times to visit Katie's family.

Our adventures went beyond just traveling. In August of 2022 we both checked off a huge bucket list item of skydiving for the first time!

Then we started our next big adventure. We moved in together in a brand new city making Richmond, VA our new home.

SHE SAID YES! On October 15th Andrew popped the question and Katie very happily and very quickly said yes.

Then the wedding planning began. We started by picking a venue and a date. It was definitely the baby animals and petting zoo that sold us on Seven Springs.

The traveling adventures continued when we went on our first cross country vacation to Arizona with Andrew's family.

We attended the Schmeer wedding where Katie was a bridesmaid and it has made us that much more excited to get married and celebrate with all of our favorite people in May!
