Sam and Katie first met in high school when they both attended Palma and Notre Dame high schools. There they participated in football and track & field for Sam, and Volleyball for Katie. Although they wouldn't know it yet, this was just the beginning.

After high school, Katie attended Cal Poly, SLO studying AgBusiness. Sam was living on Hathway Street attending Cuesta and on the track & field team. Katie remained friends with some of the boys and girls from Salinas and ran into Sam one night at his house for a mutual friend's party. They were both dating other people and again, went their separate ways.

Fast forward 4 years later after graduation and Katie started working at Church Brothers produce company. Sam had already been working there for a few months and helped Katie feel welcome and meet everyone. What started out as group outings to the bars and Tuesday night bowling league, eventually led to one night at Patria where Sam and Katie knew this was something special. But you know what they say, third times the charm :)
