Sam and Katie met in Pensacola, FL while Sam was finishing up flight school. Katie had recently finished her bachelors and was working at a hospital when one of her friends from work asked her to come over for a couple of drinks, a chill evening. Little did Sam and Katie know that the goal of the evening was to get the two of them to meet! We would not be here if it were not for Julia, Jay and all of our other Pensacola pals!

Katie had to take quite a few trips to Corpus Christi to see Sam while he finished the final bit of flight school. One of those trips went from a weekend to a whole week, most of it without power and water, thanks to the winter storms that decided to hit Texas right after she flew in for the weekend.

Sam finally got his wings, packed up and picked up Katie along the way as they both headed to NC. Katie to get her Post-Baccalaureate and Sam to start flying the Osprey. They celebrated the big move with a trip to visit family in Florida and Alaska!

Katie finally wore Sam down and convinced him to adopt their sweet pup, Hazel.

Sam and Katie had tons of time to get really good at long distance. Finally, Katie finished her Post-Baccalaureate and got to move to Jacksonville, NC with Sam.

Sam and Katie took a trip to Gatlinburg, for what Katie thought was a fun trip and celebration of her first quarter of her Doctorate being done. Sam picked a hike and decided the view would do once they got to the top and proposed to Katie. After asking multiple times if Sam was sure, Katie said yes!
