Wesley and I both worked at Brookshires when we were 17 and 18. We worked together for about a year before I started to develop a little crush on him. It started when my best friend and I were talking about the guys I worked with that we thought were cute. I mentioned Wesley's name very casually but quickly realized that I should "shoot my shot". When another work friend told me that Wesley was quitting to go work for a family friend's company, I quickly followed him on Instagram, we started messaging back and forth and I eventually asked him if he would go get a snowcone with me. We went on our first date on July 21st, 2020 and Wesley looked so cute and I was awkward. Since then, I graduated high school and moved to Searcy, Arkansas for school while Wesley stayed in Texas and got his associate's degree from TSTC in cyber security and started his career at Oncor in Dallas (he's so smart and talented). We have endured long-distance dating for nearly three years and have spent many hours traveling back and forth to see each other for even the briefest visits.
Wesley here, I am going to pick up where Katie’s story left off. We decided a long time ago that we wanted to get married and for the past year or so she has been asking me "where's the ring?" In the Summer of 2023 I knew the time had come to start planning, since she was about to be finished at Harding. I finally got the perfect ring for her and on December 23, 2023 I proposed at the Dallas Arboretum. We knew that we wanted to get married as soon as possible, and ever since that day has been a whirlwind of planning. As of right now, Katie is finishing her school in Arkansas and as soon as she gets home in May, we are getting married.
