Katie was born in La Place, Louisiana and moved to Arizona in the 7th grade. She attended NAU and Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health and works as a pediatric dentist. Currently she is also attending culinary school. Matt was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona and attended ASU for finance and is currently a pilot with American

Eagle. He just received his promotion to American Airlines. One of the many things that we have in

common is our service in the military with Matt being 3rd generation AZ Air National Guard, joining in 2010, and Katie

serving 9 years as an Active Duty Officer in the Army and currently serving in the Army Reserve. From our first date

in January at Shogun Restaurant, we knew we had something special when we found each other.

From that day forward, we haven’t looked back. It's been an amazing whirlwind relationship meeting each other

families’, weekend getaways, fun date nights out and relaxing nights in. Each step led us to the proposal on September 3rd. We were on a tour of the Lowell Observatory when Matt had planned a

romantic proposal in a candle-lit gazebo.
