It all started with a swipe on a Facebook dating app. Because we lived 3 1/2 hours away from each other, for the first few months our interactions were all electronic, text, snapchat and face time.

Eventually, we decided to meet in person for our first date. Our first date was at an Applebees' restaurant. It did not include a Bourbon Street steak or an Oreo shake. It was however, the first meal for the rest of our lives together.

It wasn't long before Tyler asked Katie to meet his family and soon there after we switched our Facebook status to "Dating".

It's true that distance makes the heart grow fonder and very quickly we knew a long distance relationship was just too difficult for both of us. So, Katie moved her life to Kansas City to be with Tyler.

As the holidays approached, we couldn't image our lives apart so we arranged a dinner to introduce our parents to each other. Dinner went well and included Tyler asking Katie's parents approval for an engagement.

With Katie's parents assistance Tyler was able to surprise Katie with a proposal in front of the Christmas tree on December 16th.

Things have now moved into high gear, planning for our big day, August 24,2024.
