Rhett's mother once said that the Lord willed for Rhett and Katie to meet, however, Instagram simply facilitated the Lord's will.

Rhett followed Katie on Instagram in 2020 because he thought she was really cute. Katie followed him back, however, they never talked or met in person.

A couple years went by and they both matured and grew. On October 25th, 2022, Rhett posted a story on Instagram about getting a free hotel room due to his plane malfunctioning. Katie commented and asked "what happened??", and the rest is history. Rumor has it, Rhett even told his mother that very day that Katie was the girl he was going to marry.

Katie and Rhett would then talk every day. Texting turned to calling and calling quickly turned to facetiming. Katie was swept off her feet by Rhett's humor and thoughtfulness. They would talk and laugh for hours each night.

Rhett and Katie would then get to know each other's hearts better regarding their love for the Lord and how the Lord had changed both of their lives. One way Katie knew that this man was special was when she found out that both of their favorite hymns was "It Is Well" and that each of them sang this song at least once a day to themselves.

Katie and Rhett made a plan to meet up in St. Louis on December 21st; Rhett would bring his two buddies and make a weekend trip out of it and Katie would drive 2.5 hours down to St. Louis for the day. It was the best date ever.

Distance would be hard, but they both knew it would be worth it. Two weeks later, Rhett flew to Katie in Michigan and by the end of the week, they officially started dating. Over the course of the next 9 months, they would visit each other, meet each other's families, and fall deeper in love with each other.

Rhett moved to Michigan for Katie on October 22nd. A week later he proposed!

The Lord's hand and His grace has evidently been on this relationship. Our lifelong goal is that our union can be a light to this world and we can spread His good news.
