Katie and George's love story dates back to 2016 at Gate A6 in the Charlotte Douglas Airport as they boarded a Southwest Airlines flight home to New England for Christmas.

As fate would have it, they found themselves on the same flight heading home for the break. Although they were familiar with each other, they had never spoken. George, boarding the flight first, contemplated how to start a conversation with the beautiful girl about to board. Simultaneously, Katie was anxiously texting her friends for some quick advice about how to approach the cute guy from school. Before Katie knew it, she was next to board the flight.

Overcome with nerves, George took a chance and asked Katie to sit with him. Luckily, she agreed, and the rest is history. (Thank you Southwest open seating policy!)

Seven years later on their anniversary, George asked Katie to marry him - Pulling off the best surprise with their family and friends all in town to celebrate!

Katie and George have stood by each other's side through many seasons of life. From the fun-filled college days to graduating and starting their careers in Charlotte, North Carolina to adopting their dog, Honey, and moving into their first apartment together. Now, they embark on their next adventure — marriage.

Katie and George are so excited to celebrate their wedding day with all of their favorite people and can't wait to welcome everyone to Newport, Rhode Island on June 28th, 2024!
