Some girls grow up dreaming about their wedding dress. I grew up dreaming about my wedding music. In high school, I decided when I got married, I wanted to send out mix cds as the invitation. I had not fathomed a world where every album in the world fit on my phone.

I spent a lot of time in high school, college, and South Dakota making playlists. Track 5 was important on my mix cds far before it was important on Taylor Swift's albums. Oldies were best kept between Track 6-10. The mix could have no more than 21 tracks, because that is how many a blank CD would let you record. And every CD had to have a secret track, mostly as an inside joke with myself.

Technology has changed a lot since I started making mixes in 7th grade. As a nod to all the many mix CDs of the past, I made 6 different playlists linked to 6 different travel personality types with different vibes.

Dave and I made a list of all the artists we both like, and we tried to include a track from each artist on each playlist. This includes the Beach Boys, Fleetwood Mac, Queen, HAIM, Taylor Swift, Gracie Abrams, Charli XCX, MUNA, Olivia Rodrigo, Death Cab for Cutie / the Postal Service, Waxahatchee, Lizzo, the Beatles, Maggie Rogers, Carly Rae Jepsen, Chappell Roan, Kacey Musgraves, etc. And, of course, "Blackbird" and "We Found Love" are tucked away somewhere special.

There are only 21 tracks and I would recommend listening in order, though shuffle is its own experience.
