Our Wedding

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, (like 700 miles away, in SC), many years ago (8, to be exact...), a girl and a guy started falling in love...Dustin and I first met at one of his fraternity parties my freshman year at Clemson University. I really didn't think much of him the first time I saw him, but due to my hallmate and his roommate dating, it wasn't long before we found each other set up on double dates. I soon realized he was actually a pretty cool guy and definitely worth getting to know. Fast forward through 4 years of college, 3 summers of us flying back and forth from SC to NJ to visit each other, and 1 very long summer of him working out in CA after graduation, we realized after going through it all we were meant to be. So in February of 2012 I made the great migration from SC to NJ and we started the next chapter of our lives living together. One important note from all of this is on February 13th, 2008 we took our first official date to a lovely little Italian restaurant in downtown Greenville, SC (Ristorante Bergamo...check them out if you're in the area!), which brings me to the next part...Early October in 2015 we took our annual trip down to SC to visit Clemson and my mother, and during this trip we had decided to revisit Ristorante Bergamo for old time's sake. It was here that Dustin FINALLY decided to pop the question, on October 9th. Honestly...I kinda knew what was up... He'd been acting weird, and a little nervous the whole day, and the fact that I could see a little square box in his pants pocket kinda gave him away. (Fun fact: he'd actually been hiding the ring in my car the entire time!!) We got through most of dinner and I just kept waiting and waiting on him to do something, but eventually I had to use the ladies room. I had a feeling when I walked out of that room something would happen. I return to the table and there's the little square box sitting next to my plate. I really didn't know what to say, I ignored it for about 10 seconds before attempting to reach for it. Dustin grabbed it and started talking (I honestly don't even remember what he said, but it made me cry and was perfect either way), and then next thing I knew he was down on one knee, the ring box was open, I was still crying, and the couple sitting at the table behind us was clapping. The waiter brought us free champagne, a few other couples congratulated us, and that was that. After 8 years of dating we were finally engaged!And now we can only look forward to the next chapter of our lives as Mr. and Mrs.!

Sarah and I met the beginning of our freshman year at Clemson and quickly went from hallmates to best friends to roommates, and to even sorority sisters. Sarah was the definition of my 'partner-in-crime'!

Taryn and I met our sophomore year at Clemson. Our boyfriends were in the same fraternity and also good friends, so it was only a matter of time before we became close friends as well. From ridiculous frat parties to relaxing camping trips at local waterfalls and chill nights at "The Square", college wouldn't have been the same without her!

Alex and I were brought together almost 4 years ago by a destiny designed by our significant others. Her  boyfriend and Dustin are business partners (and lifelong BFFs) in Cedar Rose and it's sister company VineTech, so we really had no choice but to like each other - which luckily wasn't hard!

Dustin met Trevor in their sophomore year at Clemson when Trevor joined Dustin's fraternity, and they quickly became good friends, and have been ever since.

Amanda came to the Tarpine family about 3 years ago when she started dating Dustin's brother Derek and she fit in right away! I'm so glad she found her way into this crazy gang, she's become a good friend through it all!

Dustin met Josh in his sophomore year when Josh, a freshman at the time, joined Dustin's fraternity, and despite the year difference, quickly became good friends and roommates later on.

Dustin and Nick met each other in high school and despite the 2 year age difference became good friends and have been ever since.

Ava is Dustin's 5 year old cousin,and this girl's got more style and sass than most teenagers I know!

PHL is the closest airport (40 minutes away) to the wedding location and easily accessible by highway 55.

We decided to forego booking a hotel block as we discovered the prices for block rooms were more expensive than the prices available on their website for individual bookings.

Travel

Parvin State Park is a beautiful local park less than 10 minutes from the venue and hotels. There are trails and picnic areas (all dog-friendly!) scattered through out, all wrapping around Parvin Lake. During the fall the colors are beautiful. It's where we shot most of our engagement photos!
