Where do we park for the ceremony?

Ashley / Rutledge Garage - the North Elevator Entrance on Ashley Avenue. We will have parking passes available for pick up at the ceremony, which will get you out of the parking garage for free.

How do we get to the chapel?

The address of St. Luke’s Chapel is 181 Ashley Avenue, Charleston, SC 29425 –on the corner of Ashley Ave & Bee St (you’ll see a ½ brick wall around the area). You can get to the chapel at the walkway near 179 Ashley Avenue. The Ashley/Rutledge garage is located at 158 Ashley Avenue, 29403 – you’ll want to exit the garage onto Ashley Avenue, cross the street at the crosswalk, and head to the right towards Bee Street. Once you see a red brick castle-looking building (Waring Library), look for the entrance to the courtyard and follow the path to the chapel (you should also see a blue MUSC sign, too).

What is the dress code for the ceremony and reception?

The dress code for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception is Cocktail Attire. In other words, dress pants, a button down, and jacket for men (tie optional). For women, cocktail attire could be a midi dress that feels polished, chic jumpsuits, or tailored suiting paired with elevated accessories.

What do we do between the ceremony and cocktail hour?

There will be about two hours between the ceremony and the reception. You'll want to make sure you are at the Francis Marion at 5:00 P.M. when the cocktail hour starts - though there is time to explore the city a little! During this time, you can check into your hotel if you haven't and also look at the Things To Do tab of our website.

Is there transportation between the different locations?

There will not be transportation to the ceremony or reception; however, if you are staying at the Francis Marion, you will only need to take the elevator to the second floor to get to the reception!

Do you have a wedding registry? Where can we find it?

We are registered at Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, and Williams Sonoma. All of these items can be accessed through our wedding website, under the “Registry” tab, or by searching for the registry through the individual stores.

Will there be food served at the reception?

Yes! When you RSVP to the wedding invitation, you will select a dinner entree that will be served during the reception - so please make sure to choose an option! If an option is not selected by August 1st, the chef will choose one for you. There will also be hors d'oeuvres served during cocktail hour.

What time does the ceremony and reception start?

The ceremony will be at St. Luke’s Chapel, in downtown Charleston, and it will start promptly at 2:00pm EST. Please plan to arrive ~30 minutes ahead of time to find your seat. Cocktail Hour will take place at the Francis Marion Hotel, and will lead into the reception. Cocktail Hour will start at 5:00pm EST.

Why do I get a calendar invite for 12:00am when I RSVP to the wedding?

Great question! We reached out to The Knot and they stated that it is a glitch due to time zones, so they recommend just changing the time to the actual ceremony (2:00 P.M.) once you receive it. More details on timing of events can be found on the Home tab.
