and I never dreamt it could be true.


It was July of 2022 and the school year was about to get under way. We were in the EPA gym and I remember like it was yesterday when Katie walked in. Her golden hair and sparkling blue eyes were enough to bring your attention to her but then she smiled and the whole room lit up. I remember thinking, Im going to know her. She says she saw me and thought, Im going to marry her! She knew better than I...I just never thought someone as beautiful, hilarious, mature (but only when it matters), kind, supportive, and by far the most genuine person I have ever known could possible see me. But she did and she does. She sees me everyday. She sees our kids. She sees us with loving eyes and warm hugs. She sees us through everyday and we are so lucky! I am so lucky that I get to spend the rest of my life with this woman! Back to the story...
In October we went out for a is this a date? brunch and in November we had the weirdest first date Ive ever been on...but still, neither of us knew what was happening between us. Then, on December 9, Katie worked up the courage to tell me how she felt...and I turned her down! I mean, we worked together, we couldnt date each other!! Two weeks later, I told her I had been wrong, she was amazing and I would be crazy to not be with her and we havent left each others side since.


Jayden and I moved in with Katie and Maya in the summer of 2023. On the beautiful night of January 26, 2024 Katie asked me to slow dance on the porch and while I was swaying in the arms of the woman I love thinking how she is everything I could ever want and more, our kids came out, she pulled out a gorgeous ring, got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with her. And now here we are... I am the luckiest woman alive!! And what a beautiful family we have created!
