Our Wedding

We are so thrilled to celebrate our marriage with such special people in a place that is so dear to our hearts. The Ho-Jo family has spent summers in Osterville since well before I was born, and it has always been my favorite place in the world. It inspired my love for golf & tennis; I still remember my dad loading up the golf cart with candy (mostly skittles) to get me out onto the course – your bribery worked, Dad! It cultivated so many lasting friendships; one of those friends is now my sister-in-law! Most importantly, it brought my family together – both the Flynn Family on my Mom’s side and the Ho-Jones Family on my Dad’s side. Those summer weeks spent making mini golf courses around our grandparent's house, tubing around North Bay, and visiting Four Seas fostered our tight family bonds. Similarly, Jack has been visiting his grandparents’ home in Osterville since he was born. Their home is fondly named “Cloondaff West” after their ancestral family’s village, Cloondaff, in Ireland’s County Mayo. Cloondaff West has been a constant in the O’Hara clan; it served as the canvas for many boisterous family dinners, cousin ping-pong battles, games of hearts, movie nights, and above all, cherished time together as a family. When the whole family would converge for 4th of July celebrations, it would impressively manage to sleep 25 (or more) O’Hara’s under one roof. While we share many of the same memories at Oyster Harbors – learning how to play golf with our grandparents, spending days getting sunburnt at the beach, and watching 4th of July fireworks on the back lawn – our paths didn’t cross for 25 years! It wasn’t until a 4th of July Party in 2021 that we were finally introduced. For our first date, I surprised and swooned Jack with my ability to navigate the golf course. Little did we know that was the start of a very long (now a lifetime) golf match. Over time, we found that we share a number of other favorite activities – skiing, tennis, pickleball, long walks, and enjoying red wine. Although, Jack is still working to get me more comfortable on hockey skates! While I had just moved to New York when we first met, Boston won my heart at about the same time as Jack. I loved my weekends in Boston spent having long dinners at small North End restaurants, going on walks down the Esplanade, and visiting his family out in Winchester. The proximity to the Cape also didn’t hurt! I ended up cutting my time in New York short to move up to Boston in the summer of 2022. We now live in the North End of Boston, right around the corner from some of our favorite restaurants. When we aren’t parenting our three fish children, we spend most summer weekends on the Cape, bringing together each of our unique traditions. One of those weekends this past June, we threw on some sweatshirts and went over to Craigville for a beach walk before a Crisp dinner; little did I know (hence the outfit), Jack would ask to spend the rest of his life with me. I think you all know how that went! :) Each event over the wedding weekend will be held at a spot that is incredibly meaningful to us; the Welcome Party will overlook the beach where we got engaged, the ceremony will be on the lawn where we celebrate each 4th of July, and the reception will be held at the location of many family dinners and celebrations. We are so looking forward to sharing these joyous events and the start of our lives together with all of you!
