Colt and Katie met country dancing one fateful night their freshman year of college. While they were smitten from the beginning, they didn’t click at first (Katie had forgotten Colt’s name and Colt thought flirting meant calling her weird).


After running into each other around Baylor’s campus, they crossed paths at a worship night and became fast friends. The next month was filled with many sweet opportunities to get to know each other better with mutual friends such as Katie choreographing Colt’s male beauty pageant dance routine for a fundraiser, Colt making his notably flirtatious venmo @Coltiscool, and discovering their shared love for Buccees (see photo above).


Their budding love story came to a head when their friend David Jacks just so happened to “have homework due on a Saturday night,” leaving Colt and Katie alone for their plans to get ice cream and see a movie. The next day Colt asked her out on a date to Cameron Park to watch the sunset, Katie put her head on his shoulder, and the rest is, as they say, history!
