New after-party location (McIntyre's closed! :/ ). We are going to Flying Saucer across the street after the reception to keep the party going!

FAQs

What type of food/reception will it be?

We are having a New Orleans-style cocktail reception. These receptions are typically not seated dinners, but include passed items at the start of the reception followed by food stations that remain open for a few hours. There's emphasis on lots of food options & beverages, & a social atmosphere that allows everyone to move freely about the reception space. The bride & groom have their first dance near the beginning of the reception, opening the dance floor immediately for everyone's enjoyment & to take full advantage of our hired entertainment.

Are children permitted?

We love your kids, but all wedding-weekend events are adults-only. Thanks for understanding!

What is the dress code for the weekend?

Friday night Welcome Party: dressy casual. For the ladies, think sundress vibes (no jeans, please!), but flowy maxi dresses, midi/mini dresses, dressy jumpsuits, etc. also fit the vibe! For guys, slacks or chinos with a button-down or polo. Aim for polished yet relaxed :) Saturday ceremony & reception: cocktail attire. For ladies, think cocktail dresses, elegant jumpsuits, or dressy separates (with stylish heels or dressy flats!). Please dress for a church ceremony.

Is there a hotel block?

Yes. We recommend using our reserved hotel block at the JW Marriott Houston Downtown as it's the same place as the reception & right in the heart of downtown! Head to the 'Travel' tab for more details. April 15th is the last day you can book using our discount room block code.

I am flying to Houston. What's the easiest way to get to the JW Marriott from the airport?

Our 'Hotel & Travel' tab has airport transportation tips & tricks whether you're flying into Bush or Hobby!

How do I get to the ceremony from the hotel?

BUS: We have a 30-person bus reserved to take guests to & from the ceremony. It will depart from the front of the hotel starting at 1:35pm. WALKING: It is an 11-minute walk between the JW Marriott and the ceremony. UBER: You can also take a short Uber or Lyft to/from the ceremony.

Where do I park?

There is metered parking on the streets around the Church. We recommend parking at the reception venue (JW Marriott hotel) and walking, Ubering, or using the bus to get to/from the ceremony. The JW Marriott has *discounted* event valet parking for the day of the wedding for $23 and overnight parking for $36/night. To receive the discounted valet, make sure to pick up the sticker at the front desk & mention our event.

What to do between the wedding ceremony & reception?

Due to the early Catholic mass times, there will be a short gap between the ceremony & cocktail hour. As downtown Houston is full of many bars, restaurants, and activities, we recommend heading to a local spot nearby or taking a rest back at the JW Marriott hotel if that's where you are staying! Head to the "restaurants & bars" and "things to do" tabs for our local recommendations!

Will there be an open bar at the reception?

Do you know us? Of course!!
