We met while living in Seattle, Washington in February, 2020. After 3 typical dates, we began taking long walks around the Seattle neighborhoods (sometimes up to 20 miles). We bonded over our love of being outdoors. As we continued to spend time together and learn about each other, our love sparked and deepened.

Only 6 months into knowing each other, Max moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to pursue his PhD. We spent a year dating long distance, flying to visit each other and eating meals together over FaceTime.

Eventually, Katie moved out to Pittsburgh and we started our family with the addition of our dog Penny (who loves being included on our walking dates).

In April 2023 on a hike in Russian River, California Max proposed and we officially began another amazing chapter of our story together.

We cannot wait for the years of love and long walks ahead!
