With easy-riding terrain perfect for families and beginners, Saskadena Six Ski Area, formerly Suicide 6, welcomes skiers and snowboarders of all abilities to slide down its groomed trails and thaw out beside the indoor/outdoor fireplace at the base of the alpine lodge. Rentals, repairs and a cozy restaurant are all available just steps from the slopes.
With over 45 km of trails of varying terrain suitable for both skate and classic cross-country skiing, the Woodstock Inn & Resort Nordic Center is the perfect place for all skiers. Trek up to Mount Tom’s summit for the perfect vista of Woodstock Village and great photo op, or explore the winding Mount Peg trails. From family-friendly to expert, we have trails that loop to amazing views, technical tracks to practice your skills on, or casual ski-strolling trails. Lessons, tours and rentals available for all ages and abilities.
This easy snow-sport is a great way to hike during the winter months, and our vast range of trails caters to all abilities. Explore Mount Tom and Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park, or head out the doors of the Nordic Center Lodge and trek the trails of Mount Peg. On select Saturdays join us for a snowshoe trek up to the Mount Tom Cabin for a warm lunch & cozy atmosphere.
Bring your fatbike to ride the Mt. Peg trails! The large tires help grip the snow and ice and they climb uphill like no other bike can, giving you the ability to conquer any of our trails. Enjoy a ride across a snow-covered meadow or take on the challenge of some deep and steep backcountry tracks on Mt. Peg.
Step outside the Woodstock Inn & Resort and choose from more than 60 miles of interconnected trails and pathways that wind through the Woodstock Village, nearby meadows and woodlands, scenic vistas, and rural countrysides. Pedestrian pathways skirt local landmarks, while off-road trails yield to magnificent vistas from the summits of Mount Peg and Mount Tom. Stroll the 20+ miles of colonial carriage roads for a look into Woodstock's historic past as they wander through the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historic Park. Don't miss the newest walking path, take the 3-mile Ottauquechee River Trail that begins at East End park for a family-friendly riverside stroll.
Meet prize-winning Jersey dairy cows, draft horses, Southdown sheep, and heritage chickens and sample Billings Farm’s own 100% raw-milk cheddar cheese. Explore the carefully-restored 1890 Farm House and learn about the farm operation a century ago. During the warmer months, wander the heirloom garden, apple orchard, and cornfields along the river, and unwind on the dairy bar terrace with a Vermont-made ice cream; a winter visit may feature horse-drawn sleigh rides through snowy farm fields. The daily afternoon milking begins at 3:30 p.m.! The museum features interactive programs, award-winning historical exhibits, and seasonal events.
