It all started one December night when Darcy decided to send a message to a girl he saw on Instagram. They had both been involved in a Christian ministry in Rochester but had somehow never met. When Katie saw the message from this Darcy guy, being a big Pride and Prejudice fan, she had to respond. They conversed on Instagram and then through texts, and then one Sunday in January (2023), they met in-person for a walk at Durand Eastman Park. This initial meetup went better than both of them expected and so a week later, they went on their first date at the Seneca Park Zoo. And over the next couple months, they continued to get to know each other and spend time together, until one fateful night (March 11, 2023) when Darcy asked Katie to be his girlfriend. She, having been patiently waiting for this, gladly accepted. Over the next 8 months, they continued to fall in love with each other, exploring different parts of Rochester and even taking a jaunt across the border to Darcy's family's cottage in Canada. And then, on November 26, Darcy surprised Katie and proposed to her at Durand Eastman Park, the very first place they met. There were tears (of joy), and laughter, and so much joy, as Katie happily agreed to spend the rest of her life with him.
