It all started on a blind date at a beloved Denison dive bar, Taco Dan's. We then decided it would be good to step it up a notch for our first real date, settling on a quaint Ohio hole in the wall, Tequilaville. Soon after, Jake hopped aboard a plane to Australia where Katie was studying, and we even jumped out of a plane together - talk about trust just 2 months into dating!

COVID marked the start of a new chapter, in many ways. The physical distance may have been gone, but the social distance made it feel just as far sometimes. Some of our favorite memories come from Vermont getaways, car trunk movie nights, patio picnics, and cooking together - can't miss a taco Tuesday even in a pandemic!

We moved into our first shared apartment together in the South End - still our favorite Boston neighborhood. We both experienced many new chapters over the next year with living together, moving 3 times, new jobs and, of course, new traditions.

Despite all the places we've traveled together and the memories we've created, Vermont will always hold a special place in our hearts. From our first time together in 2018...

...to five years later in 2023 when we got engaged in front of the very same waterfall surrounded by friends and family on a hot summer day.
