It all started when a few of Katie and RJs mutual friends invited them to their New Years Eve/Anniversary party in 2020. RJ wasn't sure if he was going to go or not because he was "flying solo" and didn't really know many people there, but ultimately decided last minute to go support his friends. Katie was encouraged by some friends to get out and go have a good time. Little did either of them know that they would meet each other that night, and that their lives would be forever changed.

They would take the next few weeks to chat here and there until RJ asked Katie out on their first date. They made their way to Crafty Rooster in downtown Conway, which still is one of their favorite places to eat. After their first date, they went on to a few others, but the next most important one was on Valentines day, where they went to Wicked Tuna in Murrells Inlet. This is when RJ truly knew that Katie was someone he wanted to spend his life with. So after being nervous for a few days, RJ asked Katie if she wanted to make things official and officially begin a relationship. Lucky for him, she said yes!

There haven't been many days where they have been apart, and RJ knew very early on that Katie was his future wife. So, RJ decided to ask her to go on a trip that he was taking with his family to Maine. Little did she know that he would ask her to marry him on the rocky coast of Maine right in front of Bass Harbor Head Light House on July 8th 2021.

Katie was absolutely in shock that RJ asked her to marry him, but she knew, as much as he did, that the Lord had brought them together after many years of prayer. They could not be more excited to share their wedding day with you! They look forward to seeing each and every one of you on their big day!
