Colton Rasen was born and raised in Arizona, and Katie McGuire is from Southern California. Katie participated in the great migration of the 2020 pandemic to the new California…Arizona. Colton, generally disagreeable to new things and increasing home prices, was not a fan of this migration but he quickly found out that there’s always a silver lining. Sometimes it’s hiding in plain sight…or in this case, on a dating app. Being millennials, engulfed in technology, where else do you find love these days? The two met via Hinge. Katie was skeptical of the goofy looking guy with long hair, not being who he said he was. Looking like Chris Hemsworth from Thor, Katie thought it was too good to be true. She made him prove his existence and great looks via Facetime. You can never be too careful nowadays. After Katie confirmed Colton was real, and most likely not a serial killer, she decided to give him a shot at a first (real) date. They went to an old school drive in movie theater in Glendale, Arizona and went to see “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. But to be honest, they watched none of the movie and spent the whole time talking and getting to know one another. Little did they know, they had just started the process of falling in love. Hinge, know as “the app meant to be deleted”, had yet another success story. Over the last 5 years Colton and Katie have grown as individuals and as a team. Together, they’ve had numerous adventures, challenges, and got a cat named Larry. Katie knew she found her forever person when the two were on a road trip and started talking about plans for what they envisioned the future to be. In that moment, she saw a future with Colton in it and couldn’t imagine one without him. Colton, still unsure if Katie is the one for him, has until November 28th, 2025 to change his mind. All jokes aside, Colton knew Katie was the one for him after he had a major surgery. Katie helped him through the recovery process and supported him in unimaginable ways. From then on, he knew Katie would be the perfect partner through all the ups and downs of their future life together. In a world with over 8 billion people, they found one another… and somehow they continue to be goofy together, laugh together, adventure together, and grow together. Katie and Colton are so excited to take this next step and start a new chapter of life together!

Schedule

We recommend using Uber, Lyft, Taxi, or carpooling where possible to the venue, as parking can be limited. The ceremony location and reception location are about 0.5 miles apart. The Bride &amp; Groom are planning to walk from the ceremony to the reception. For those driving:-For the ceremony, metered street parking is available between Oak &amp; Cress Streets or along the PCH. -For the reception, valet parking is offered at Mozambique (let them know you are part of our party) or metered street parking is available along the PCH/neighborhoods in the area. -If you are comfortable with walking, you can pre-park with the Mozambique valet (reception location) and walk to Brooks Street Beach (ceremony location) and then return with the Bride &amp; Groom after the ceremony. If parking at metered street parking, please be sure to pay so you do not get a ticket and check you are parked in the 3 hour max street parking areas which the majority are. Please choose your travel and parking options based on what works best for you.
