For an easy hike with mountain and lake views, head to the Woods Walk. This out and back 3 mile hike starts from just outside of town.

Take the Upper Upper Loop Trial for a 7.6 mile loop that includes countless wildflowers, spectacular mountains, and views of the town.
Hard
For those looking for a challenging hike, Oh-Be-Joyful Trail is just the one! This hike starts at our favorite camp site in Crested Butte and takes you past waterfalls and amazing views for a 13 mile hike. Check trail conditions before heading out, as snow pack may make parts more challenging.
Elk Avenue is main street in Crested Butte town center. It is lined with historic and brightly colored shops and restaurants. You'll find saloons, galleries, local shops and delicious eats.
The Taylor River, only a 20 minute drive away, offers the some of the best rafting close to Crested Butte. This fast and technical whitewater delivers fantastic canyon scenery, a wild ride and memorable experiences. Upper Taylor will be more action packed and nerve-racking while the Lower Taylor will still take you on a sweet, but less intense trip.
Crested Butte is a really popular destination for mountain bikers, and for good reason. This area is home to over 400 miles of incredible mountain biking tracks. Trails range from beginner to advanced, with distances from a few miles to 25+ miles. A great option for novice riders is the Strand Bonus and Canal Trail Loop.
