My pastor would always tell me, “just keep running your race, one day you’ll look over and she will be running next to you”. Neither of us knew that statement would take on a near literal irony. It was a decision on a whim to drive out to the oceanfront on a cold January evening to take part in a club run. Katie and I both attended that run, not yet having formally met each other but since we attended and volunteered at the same church we knew of each other. I didn’t want to awkwardly pretend I didn’t know who she and her friend were so I walked over to say hi and make small talk. After the run Katie invites me to join in training for the upcoming Shamrock marathon. We exchange numbers so she can send me the training plan. And we had no idea that this night, January 25, 2022, would be the beginning of the story of the love of our lives.&nbsp; We took our time before becoming official. We ran together (a lot), opted to run a full marathon together because half isn’t enough, memorized all of the countries of the world (actually) as an excuse to talk every day, and built a friendship on long, effortless conversations. There was an ease, a genuine enjoyment of each other’s presence, and a desire to get to know each other a little more every day. By the time we expressed mutual interest, things had already felt very right. We officially became a couple at Waterside on August 24, 2022. Our relationship has grown deeper, richer, more fulfilling, and more fun each day since. We share adventures and experiences from mountain top hikes in the pouring rain, to Monday Night RAW at the Scope, movie nights out and movie nights in, long walks, long drives, and documenting everything with our Polaroid camera. We love nothing more than capturing these little mementos of moments that years later we’ll look back upon and smile. Our future kids and grandkids will see we were just as way back when as we will be when they exist. To see that we’ve always been the best of friends. A little timeline of this race that we are running together, the race of our lives. A few words on a page isn’t nearly enough to fully paint the picture of the joy that we bring each other. And how happy and excited we are to be able to call each other husband and wife. Proverbs 18:22 says he who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord. I must be very highly favored. I am so happy to have found my good thing. The best thing. Running this race together until death do us part.

Sarah and Katie became fast friends. Sarah is the friend the Lord knew Katie needed. She brought Katie in at the beginning of her faith journey and showed her the goodness of God. She played a huge role behind the scenes to get CJ and Katie together! Sarah is the most authentic and genuine person, she creates a welcoming atmosphere for everyone, and is the gatherer of people, along with her husband Andre.

Sophia and Katie met at Old Dominion University. They played lacrosse together all 4 years. Sophia and Katie were roommates for 4 years... 4.25 if you count when Sophia let Katie stay at her apartment for a summer. Sophia is one of Katie's greatest friends. They have watched each other grow up into the women they are today. Sophia has always been there for Katie in the highest and lowest points. She is her most loyal friend and can't imagine her life without her!

Alcee has the most infectious laugh! She and Katie have been friends for a few years and are currently roommates. Katie looks up to Alcee in so many ways: her strong and steady faith, her ability to cook with ingredients, and her determination to learn anything and execute it. Katie looks to Alcee for a good laugh or some random facts. She pushes Katie and others around her to be a better version of themselves everyday!

Molly is the most organize and thoughtful person Katie knows. From the moment Katie met Molly, she has treated her so kindly and always opened her home to her. She is such an amazing cook and Katie is always spoiled when she is cooking dinner that night. Katie admires everything that Molly does. Katie hopes to be half the host and interior designer Molly is. Katie loves having Molly around and is her favorite part of visiting her brother Gunnar!

Patrice is so driven and excellent. Katie has admired her work ethic from the moment she met her. Patrice absolutely crushed med school and still managed to be in good spirits. She lights up a room when she walks in and always brings the good energy and good vibes! She is so much fun and always makes Katie laugh. Katie is so excited to be apart of the Cameron family and continue to grow her relationship with Patrice!!

Payton is the worlds greatest hype woman. She is the most caring and selfless friend. Payton will remember every word you say and follow up on how something is going, even if you forgot you said it. She loves her friends and cares deeply about people. Payton is always down for a good time, especially when sparkling soda is involved!

Tessa and Katie met at Old Dominion as Tour Guides. Their friendship has grown soo much over the last couple of years. They both started going to Wave at the same time, and they have both shared growing in their faith journey together. Tessa has the biggest heart and will do anything to help anyone. She always challenges Katie to be more generous and caring. Tessa always makes Katie laugh and not take life so seriously!

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?

Summer Cocktail. Be prepared for the Virginia summer heat!  Suits and colorful dresses :)

ARE KIDS INVITED?

We love and adore all of your children, but our wedding is an adults only event.

DO I GET TO BRING A DATE?

Your RSVP will indicate if you have a +1!

WILL WE BE INSIDE THE WHOLE NIGHT?

Yes, we will be indoors for the entirety of the night! There are some outdoor access points that can be used through out the night.

CAN I TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR CEREMONY?

We appreciate that you want to document our special moment. We kindly ask that you do not use your phone during the ceremony to take pictures or videos! We will happily send moments captured by our photographer.

WILL THERE BE TRANSPORTATION?

We will not be providing transportation. The Chrysler is close to many hotels in downtown Norfolk. There is parking at the venue. We apologize for any inconvenience!
