Hi! We’re Katie and Sal — and our story begins way back in high school.   We met in 11th grade and started dating on April 6th, 2012. From that moment on, we were inseparable. We went to junior and senior prom together, spent every spare moment side by side, and made some of our favorite memories in those final years of high school.   After graduation, life took us in different directions. Katie went off to the University of Delaware, while Sal attended Drexel in Philadelphia. We kept in touch a little during freshman year, but as time went on, we drifted apart.   Years later, in 2019, fate stepped back in. Katie had finished college and moved back home to Long Island to begin working, while Sal had built a life and career in Philadelphia. When Katie decided to go back to school for nursing — and was looking into an accelerated program at Drexel — she reached out to Sal for advice about the school and the city.   That one message changed everything.   After she got accepted and moved to Philly, Sal asked Katie out on a date to Dante & Luigi’s — one of the oldest Italian restaurants in the city. From the moment they sat down, it was like no time had passed. Their connection came rushing back, and a new chapter began. Just a week before Katie’s classes started, Sal was offered a job back on Long Island to work with his father at the family business, Alliance Field Solutions. The timing wasn’t ideal, but they made it work. For over a year, Katie and Sal tackled long-distance, taking every chance they could to travel and see each other.   Eventually, Sal bought a home in Commack and waited patiently for Katie to come back to Long Island. Once reunited, they started building their life together. A couple of years later, they decided it was time to find their forever home — and in October 2023, that dream came true when they closed on a beautiful house in Ronkonkoma.   That same day, surrounded by family, they walked into their new home — and in the living room, Sal got down on one knee and asked Katie to marry him.   From high school sweethearts to homeowners, from growing up together to growing together — we’re so grateful for every twist and turn that brought us here. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you.
