Our Wedding

Our Story

First, we would like to say we are so excited you are here and we cannot wait to celebrate with you. Our wedding day has felt like it has been a long time coming. We have already achieved some big milestones as a couple, adopting our first baby (Archie), buying a house, and of course having our two beautiful daughters. We are grateful to each of you for being part of this next big milestone, our wedding! We first met as one of the few online dating success stories in 2019. It was on a date at the Twin Cities Jazz Festival that we both realized that this was something serious. The next years after that have been a whirlwind, from quarantining together during Covid, to developing a hobby of camping and kayaking, to traveling to Liberia and a lot of time parenting, we have gone through a lot together. Here are some pictures of our journey.

Monkontee surprised Katie with a private sunset dinner at a resort in Liberia. The setting was magical, and so beautiful. He proposed after a champagne toast, all while a confused Mandela looked on :)

We have reserved the parking lot behind the venue owned by Bobby and Steve's at 1124 S 3rd St Minneapolis, MN 55415There will be a sign for our wedding indicating it is our parking lot.It is okay to leave your car overnight and pick it up the next morning. Enter in the front or back door of Day Block Brewing company and go to the second floor on the elevators or stairs.

The wedding venue is in downtown Minneapolis, we have blocked rooms at two downtown hotels, Aloft Minneapolis and Tru by Hilton. Please feel free to look into other downtown hotels as well as there are many in the area. It would be an easy Uber from the venue to any hotel in the downtown area.

Things to do around Minneapolis

The wedding is located in downtown Minneapolis, if you have some time before the wedding or the day after here are some suggestions for things to do in the area. Walk around the Stone Arch Bridge and the old Mill District<a href="https://www.minneapolisparks.org/parks-destinations/historical_sites/stone_arch_bridge/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.minneapolisparks.org/parks-destinations/historical_sites/stone_arch_bridge/</a> Go into the Guthrie Theater to visit the endless bridge for a great view of the river and skyline.<a href="https://www.guthrietheater.org/about-us/Our_Spaces/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.guthrietheater.org/about-us/Our_Spaces/</a> There are a number of great breweries and restaurants in the area, several breweries out by Target Field are Fulton Brewery and Modist Brewing Visit Minnehaha Falls and eat at one of our favorites, Sea Salt Eatery. And of course, you can always venture out to the Mall of America!
