Katie and Tim met during their freshman year at Georgia Southern University where they lived across the hall from each other. They became quick friends and started eating dinner together every single day. When Katie broke her arm, they ate every meal together so that Tim could carry her tray for her. How sweet!

After being sent home in March 2020 due to the pandemic, Katie and Tim continued to talk every day. On June 1st, Tim visited Katie's house for the weekend and they went on their first official date to Jekyll Island where Tim asked Katie to be his girlfriend.

Tim comes from a dog household and decided it was time. He adopted Buddy, and Katie was terrified of him. She was not a dog person.

The day that Katie accepted her offer letter from the University of Georgia's chemistry Ph.D. program! Tim made two sets of cakes in the school colors of the two programs that Katie applied to.

We found a puppy! This little baby was hiding from fireworks by the stairs of Tim's apartment, so we took her inside.

When the puppy's owner was not found after a week, we kept her and named her Luna!

And the very next day, Luna moved to Athens into Katie and Tim's first apartment together.
The Proposal

Even after going ring shopping together, the moment was still totally unexpected by Katie.
By chance, our wedding date is 365 days x2 after our engagement!
Katie and Tim have since moved into a house with a huge fenced yard for the pups. Katie is still in her PhD program at the University of Georgia, and Tim works from home doing Data Science for a loan company.
After the wedding, Katie and Tim will be saving up next for a travel trailer or RV so that they can get going on all of the adventures that they have dreamed up in the last few years!
