It's up to you! The Francis Marion Hotel is located in Downtown Charleston, approximately fifteen minutes from the Charleston International Airport by car. You may wish to rent a car and a parking garage is conveniently located next to The Francis Marion Hotel. Valet parking is $40/day or you can self-park. However, one can access everything Charleston has to offer easily because the hotel is centrally located downtown. Many bars, restaurants, shops, and historic sites are a short walk, rickshaw ride, or Lyft/Uber ride away.

October concludes our annual hurricane season and as a consequence, it is one of the most beautiful, temperate months in Charleston. Fall is in the air, and temperatures are typically mild. Generally speaking, plan for comfortable daytime weather but bring a jacket for the evenings in case of chilly overnight temperatures. Check your weather app before packing to verify!

We have a room block reserved at The Francis Marion Hotel and certainly, that is the most convenient option for out-of-town guests. However, we have listed two other hotels, one Marriott and one Hilton, that are within walking distance of The Francis Marion Hotel and are also convenient for guests traveling in for the wedding. Guests who are local to Charleston or who are driving in from elsewhere in South Carolina are welcome to park in the adjacent garage to The Francis Marion Hotel.

We recognize that this will be a busy weekend in the city! If the parking garage at The Francis Marion Hotel is full, have no fear. There are an additional two parking garages within walking distance of The Francis Marion Hotel. One is located behind the hotel on St. Philip's Street, and the other is located on the corner of St. Philip's and George Streets.
