&nbsp;I'm not overly given to sentiment I don’t believe in big declarations of love like in so many crappy romcoms I believe love comes from small acts, like picking up a sandwich for your partner on the way home or remembering the thing they pointed out in the shop window when their next birthday comes around, but ive promised to do this so here we go&hellip;.

 



How do you begin to tell the story of 2 people and the life they have built with each other, well like most Irish couples our story together began in the pub&hellip;

 



I was drunk not massively drunk but drunk, the type of drunk where you look around with a stupid grin and have far more confidence than you really have any business having. It was with this false sense of bravado that I spotted Katie. She wore a red dress and looked drop dead gorgeous, I thought to myself&hellip;.. not much at all because if I had I would have known she was far far far out of my league but empty headed and full of drink induced confidence I charged in with my best line&hellip;,. I can’t remember what that line was but katie will tell you it was a cracker! About halfway into my attempt at charming her my brain suddenly decided to kick in and flood my system with embarrassment, I quickly mumbled some sort of apology to her and ran to the bar. This is when I felt a tap on my shoulder, somehow one of my friends had convinced her that this guy was alright and deserved some kind of a second chance, the rest they say is history. 2 weeks later Katie flew out to cornwall ,where I was working at the time and we began our relationship. Over the next two years we would see each other as much as we could, given the distance between us, and for those who say long distance relationships don’t work, well look no further. 

 



Katie made the big move over to the UK in 2016 and we have been happily living in tiny apartments in south London since then. 

 



I never believed I could be as happy as I am with Katie, she is everything I could have wished for in a partner and more. Marrying her is truly a dream come true.

As Ger mentioned we have been living in London for the past two years and while it’s been great living in the big city it has definitely come with its trials and tribulations. Luckily for me Ger was my rock always supportive, kind, caring and patient as I adjusted to the move and dealt with homesickness.

 



When I first met Ger that Christmas he had told me he was working in Cornwall, home just for Christmas but would love to take me out on a date. As we chatted through the night I realised we had so much in common and I was very taken with his sparkly eyes and infectious laugh! We met a week later for our first date, a walk in the Killarney National Park, followed by a cup of coffee and a movie. For the next 2 weeks we were inseparable and after a painful goodbye I decided to take the leap of faith and visit him in Cornwall and thus began a year and a half of long distance, travelling back and forth between Ireland and the UK

 



Nature has always been close to Ger’s heart , especially given his profession , working in conservation. Getting out in nature is always a welcome reprieve from the city and a passion we both share. I had known Ger wanted to propose as he had asked me to help him pick out a ring that we felt represented us both. &nbsp;After which followed three months of waiting and keeping me guessing. During his birthday in April he convinced me to go on an 9 mile hike through the North Downs, with the sun shining down upon us, in a picnic spot called God’s seat (due to the spectacular view), Ger proposed and it couldn’t have been more perfect. I am so excited to marry the love of my life and I can’t wait to celebrate our special day at each other’s side with all our friends and family

Hey all, so shuttle bus details.....Once you make your way back to town (after the church) the bus will be collecting guests at 3.45pm. Collection points are at both the Kenmare bay hotel or the square in town.

The bus from Dromquinna, back to hotels/ B&Bs, begins at midnight. This goes back to Kenmare town, Main Street, Henry Street and back to Dromquinna. Guests can be dropped at any point along this route.
