Airport choices: Vancouver is the most convenient airport (roughly 2 hours from Whistler, and 2.5 from Pemberton) Seattle would be the closest alternative (4 hours from Whistler, 4.5 from Pemberton)
Roughly two hours from Vancouver, Whistler is a mountain/ski town with easy access to world-class biking, hiking, lakes, forests, and many restaurants, bars, shops, etc. Staying in Whistler is recommended for guests who want to experience the beauty and nature of BC while enjoying the amenities of an upscale mountain town. There’s a lot going on in the village in the summer (live music, free events, farmer's market, etc.) Plus, Whistler is very walkable, and there is a large selection of accommodation options.
Getting Around Whistler During Your Stay:
With many walking and biking trails along with various public transport options, getting around Whistler is easy without a car. Additionally, with convenient transportation to and from Vancouver Airport, it’s a good option for any guests looking to avoid renting a car for the weekend. Although to note, without a car, you will be confined to activities in the Whistler area.
BC Transit: BC Transit operates bus routes connecting all of Whistler’s neighborhoods (the Village, Creekside, Cheakamus, Emerald Estates, etc.) Fare is free on weekends and CAD 2.50 each way on weekdays. More info on this bus, including schedules, routes, etc. can be found here and here.
Lost Lake Shuttle: The free shuttle is a convenient transportation service that operates daily between the Village and Lost Lake Park. More info here.
Whistler’s Valley Trail: A car-free, paved trail and boardwalk network connecting Whistler’s neighborhoods, lakes, viewpoints, and picnic spots. Great for getting around on foot/bike!
Wedding Day Transportation: Whistler is roughly 30 minutes from our venue in Pemberton. We will have a shuttle to and from Whistler on our wedding day. (check back later for more information)
Ride-hailing apps like Uber and Lyft are unavailable in Whistler and Pemberton. While a local Whistler-only option called "Whistle" exists, public transportation is the most reliable and accessible way to get around.
Reservations should be made directly with Pan Pacific Whistler on an individual basis. To receive the special wedding rate, each guest must indicate “O’Leary and Webb Wedding” at time of booking. This rate is based on a minimum 2-night stay.
Rate Release Date: June 20, 2024. After this date, our negotiated rate will no longer be available and rooms will be available at best public rates based on availability.
Home to our wedding venue, Pemberton is a small village nestled at the base of Mount Currie, 30 minutes north of Whistler. We recommend staying in Pemberton to our guests looking for a quiet, rustic experience in BC’s beautiful coastal mountains. With access to an abundance of outdoor activities, Pemberton offers a gateway to world class hiking, biking, etc. (with many of these activities likely to have smaller crowds than their counterparts in Whistler.)
However, unlike Whistler, Pemberton lacks a “main village strip" and has a slimmer selection of restaurants and affordable accommodation options. Therefore, we recommend guests looking to stay here book their accommodation ASAP. Additionally, renting a car is recommended as public transportation is limited, and the town isn’t as walkable.
Wedding Day Transportation:
We will have a shuttle to and from the Pemberton Valley Lodge on our wedding day and for the welcome party. (check back later for more information)
To make a reservation, call 604-894-2000 and mention you would like to book for the O’Leary & Webb Wedding. On-line bookings are not permitted.
Reservations by attendees must be received on or before May 19th, 2024.
