In the unlikeliest of places—Price Rite—Katie met Chris on his very first day of work back in 2014. Over the next four years, they’d cross paths as friendly coworkers, exchanging polite greetings or chatting in the break room about their latest half marathons or Spartan races. Both were with other people at the time, so neither imagined where life would take them 11 years later.Katie eventually moved on from Price Rite but stayed close with a few work friends. Fast forward to March 2020, when Chris slid into Katie’s DMs, sparking a conversation that led to a Thursday night date at Dave &amp; Buster’s. Eight days later, the world came to a standstill with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, and Chris decided to make their relationship official with the charmingly bold statement, “So, you’re my girlfriend, right?”On their one-month anniversary, Katie tested positive for the virus. To protect her parents, she “temporarily” moved into Chris’s apartment. Over the following months, amidst quirky Netflix documentaries, long walks through Rhode Island’s scenic parks, hours spent piecing together 2,000-piece jigsaw puzzles, and sharing plenty of Truly seltzers, they fell in love.Since then,&nbsp;they've built a life filled with adventures and love, rescuing two sweet cats, Chloe and Ramsey (and one day a dog!),&nbsp;and traveling to some of their favorite cities—New Orleans, Nashville, Denver, and San Francisco . Chris also eventually left Price Rite.&nbsp;During the 2020 lockdown, they made a promise to each other: once the world reopened, they’d take the trip they’d always dreamed of to Barcelona. In July 2024, they made good on that promise. And on that unforgettable trip, Chris got down on one knee and asked Katie to marry him. Her answer? A resounding yes!

We have a room block at TownePlace suites conveniently located 4 miles from Lake Pearl. Please reserve using the link below. Reservations can be made for 1 or 2 nights. Reservations in the room block must be made prior to July 16, 2025. There are tons of hotels located close to the venue as well.
