In 2014, a Katie was working at a breakfast and lunch spot in New London. Most days, the place buzzed with locals and travelers, but occasionally, Pascal and his friends would come in. Katie often hoped her manager would give their table to someone else because they usually showed up to be a handful, but somehow it always ended up in her hands. Pascal claimed he was a good tipper back then, but Katie likes to think she taught him a thing or two about tipping when they started dating.

Fast forward to March 2022—a simple swipe brought them back together. Pascal made the first move. One afternoon, Pascal invited Katie to what she thought would be a casual outing with friends at the CHaD Police vs. Firefighter Hockey game. Normally, Katie's Sunday mornings revolved around grocery shopping and planning for the week, but when Pascal called to check if she was ready, she rushed to throw something together and pushed aside her Sunday teacher dread.

What began as a low-key evening turned into an unforgettable night filled with laughter and great vibes. Hours flew by, and before they knew it, they were saying goodnight. As days turned into weeks and weeks into months, their connection deepened.

Looking back, it's hard not to wonder what it would have been like if they had known then what they know now. But honestly, their journey is something to cherish.
