Q + A

Can I bring a plus-one?

If you have a plus-one, they will be listed on the RSVP page once you type your name in!

Where should I stay?

Newport has a lot of short-term vacation rental options that will be the best budget-friendly option for larger groups. Many of them are central and walkable from the center of downtown and the venue! We have also listed details about hotel rooms and hotel blocks on the travel page and in the Q&A box below.

Do you have a hotel block?

Yes. The venue resort has a minimum price of $670 per night for the hotel block. If enough guests are interested, we will reserve space for as many people who need it! Many budget-friendly hotel options are available in Middletown (~10 min drive to the venue). Please contact Katie and Brendan if you are interested in a specific hotel or room block!

What should I wear?

We encourage everyone to dress for a formal garden party event. Feel free to embrace summery colors, fun textures, and accessories! The ceremony will be outdoors, so remember to make grass-friendly shoe and gown choices.

Can I bring my children?

Yes! We will have a grass area and lawn games during the cocktail hour and reception that are kid-friendly. Your children should be listed on your RSVP form on the site. We also have a recommended childcare provider in Newport that works with our venue. Please text Katie or Brendan with any questions.

What is the best way to get around Newport?

Ubers and taxis are readily available in Newport. You can typically travel from one side of the island to the other in under 15 minutes. We will have a trolley on the day of the event that will pick up passengers from downtown and drop them off at the venue. The trolley will also be available following the reception for transportation back to downtown. Other options for transport to the venue are a water taxi and a hotel shuttle that pick up in downtown Newport. Newport is also extremely walkable! The venue is less than a mile from the middle of Bowen's Wharf and Thames Street (where all of the bars, shops, and restaurants are.) Additionally, you can rent a bicycle for the weekend at Island Adventures. If you are staying at the Newport Harbor Island Resort, bicycle rentals are free on-site at the venue on a first-come, first-serve basis.
