Mike proposed to Katie on Saturday&nbsp;July 29, 2017 at the same park in Evanston where they had their first date. Katie is very difficult to surprise, but with help from friends and family Mike was able to pull off a joyful&nbsp;surprise. After receiving a fake Hamilton ticket&nbsp;from her parents and a deceptive phone call from her brother Johnny earlier that week, Katie was convinced that they were only going to Chicago&nbsp;that weekend for a romantic Saturday evening picnic and the&nbsp;show shortly after. Little did she know what Mike had in store. When they arrived at the park a nervous Mike set up the picnic. Once the food was out Mike pulled out a dessert box and asked Katie to put her hands over her eyes and&nbsp;turn around saying that he had a surprise. Thinking it was just one of her favorite desserts Katie thought nothing of it until Mike asked her to stand up and turn back around where Mike was down on one knee with the ring ready to go. After&nbsp; a few emotional minutes Mike was able to propose to which Katie accepted. Mike then had to break the news that they were not going to go see Hamilton, but were going to an engagement party at the Romano's where their friends&nbsp;and family were waiting to celebrate. On their way to the Romano's, Katie and Mike stopped at Sacred Heart Church to pray the&nbsp;rosary together and thank God for the many blessings that brought them together.&nbsp;
